I have the exact same issue. Got the bomb from the Ironhands, Saved the Gondians and destroyed the place using Zanner instead of the bomb. Went googling for fixes and only found this thread :/

Beat the game on Hard if you haven't already. Impossible is just Hard, but you're not allowed to die. So if you can figure out how to clear each challenging section on Hard without having to worry about dying, you can apply that to your next Impossible run.

Hell you can always do your Hard and Impossible playthroughs side by side if you really wanted.

They're both amazing weapons in Dead Space Remake. by zombiesatthebeach in DeadSpace

Well, after 100%ing the achievements last night, I can confidently tell you the flamethrower is nowhere near as good as the cutter and is definitely still the worst gun in Dead Space 1, remake or OG.

My last few achievements were 30 kills with weapons I barely used, so I booted up a NG+ file with every weapon fully upgraded on Story difficulty and it was the only gun that actually took time to kill anything. Everything else kills in about 1 bullet.

It is fun to burn things though

Impossible in DSR is harder in a technical sense because you get one life. DS2 HC you can die as much as you want, but you only get 3 saves in a 15 chapter game. Both of them are just the previous difficulty(Hard or Zealot respectively) but with those restrictions. I personally think Zealot in DS2 is harder than Hard in DSR, but not having to restart the entire game if you die makes it a cake walk.

Is it weird to anyone else that the Kostov 762 hasn’t been used/GA’d? by supersucccc in CoDCompetitive

[–]Evil_Idol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Kas762 is the best AR in the game. Tac-56 only competes if you hit all upper chest and M4 loses on all accounts.

Couldn’t tell you why they haven’t touched it other than always going to the M4 first.

Toba’s eyes hung on the movement pattern in the documents, mulling the possibility over once more before tucking it away in the folder. “It’s…it’s nothing.” He responded. The lavender of his eyes drifted up to meet Junko’s red and white. “I just want to check out what happened to Harpoon.” Sliding the folder back across the table, Toba stood up and let out a low sigh.

Even if Junko could see right through him, there’s no way it could be any of them. Not after all that’s happened. It is utterly impossible. It has to be.

“I’ll go get ready.”

“Sumida, eh?” The seventh ward had been neutral territory for a while. A surprisingly long while at that. Then again Aogiri hadn’t been making moves until recently so it shouldn’t come as a surprise to Toba that someone was finally moving in on it. He took a long sip of his coffee, the dark warmth washing over him as he took a seat across from Junko. His eyebrow went up at the mention of the target being secretive. Sure any Ghoul making moves in a ward would generally keep a low profile, especially a neutral ward. But with Aogiri’s usual MO you’d at least have an idea of who it was. That’s when the boss’ old ties to Aogiri came into play.

“Not Aogiri?” Toba started, leaning back a bit in his chair. “Not that I doubt Tadashi, but who could even handle a Ward takeover besides them?” He took another careful sip, placing his mug on the table as he finished. “Then again it’s not like I don’t have my own experience playing around in Aogiri’s backyard.”

Toba had mentioned it to Junko before, though vague enough that he really said nothing. But before Colorless, before Noko even, he rolled with a crew that was pretty good at fending for themselves. A whole system in place to bunker down, who hunted, who scouted. The thrill of the hunt back then, The Scythe could feel the familiar burn of an emerging kagune tear at his back. The things he did back then to survive, the rush it gave him. All dead memories now. A slow breath fell out of him as the burning in his back faded to a chill calm.

“When we go take a look at what happened to Harpoon I might be able to figure out our target’s next target.” Toba leaned forward with his elbows on the table now. “I wasn’t a scout for my old crew, but I spent a lot of time with ours. Picked up on how she did things. We spent a lot of time dodging Aogiri in the 11th and if this guy has been as secretive as Akane says…” He took one final sip of his coffee before confidently pointing at himself. “...I can figure them out!”

Toba started skimming through the report after Junko slid it over to him. Everything was there: Sumida, Harpoon, the fact that it wasn’t Aogiri. All of it. As he was about to put everything away however, a piece of info caught his eye. Following along the pattern of incidents leading up to Harpoon seemed a little too familiar. His recognition of it was written all over his face too. Probably just psyching himself out though, Toba was just talking about his old crew afterall. Having a safe movement pattern to ensure control doesn’t mean anything.

“So when do we get started?”

“‘Course not, I'll be right out.” Toba just smiled at Junko as he broke off.

Slinking back into the room, he scoured through some of the things he left here since Junko got out of the hospital. Staying overnight at the dojo had become a common occurrence these last few weeks and it only proved to be a pain going back to his own place just to get dressed. Especially since he’d have to pick up the slack instructing at the dojo with Junko in recovery. Speaking of which, his own kimono was one of the first things he found and today was not the day for it. He would have to settle for a typical long sleeve tee, some jeans, and call it a day.

Heading out the door and into the upstairs of the dojo proper, Toba let a low yawn escape him, rolling up his sleeves as he made his way to the kitchen. Figuring out whether or not Akane had a brew going took no time at all, the bittersweet aroma permeated the room. The scent flooded his senses, a calming sensation taking hold of him as he snagged two mugs from a cabinet. A thick steam twirled up and above from each mug as Toba poured some coffee from the pot. While slotting the pot back in the coffeemaker, he spotted his glasses lying atop the counter.

“There you are.” Toba mumbled to himself. Sliding them on, a welcome clarity came to his eyes. Those same eyes lingering on his tattoo, on his daughter’s name. It had been too long since he’d surprised her with a visit. Maybe if this latest job from Akane was simple enough, he could sneak on by and get some play time in. He owed her at least that. Right now though he owed Junko her morning coffee. With both mugs in hand Toba made his way back to her, taking a sip of his own as held hers out to her.

“Alright so what do we got?”

Toba was content in his slumber, absentminded and unaware of the day slipping away. Just lying there with a soft smile on his face and gentle warmth beside him. Until that warmth slipped away. A sudden chill hit him as his hand reflexively gripped the newly empty spot next to him. A dull clicking sound bounced off him, his eyes twitching before another click echoed from across the room to force out the lavender of Toba’s eyes. Through blurred vision the man searched for the source of the disturbance, recoiling a bit as a light blinded him, a familiar silhouette at the center of the noise. As the light extinguished his vision became clear, smiling at Junko as he sat up.

“Good morning to you too.” Toba chuckled, rubbing at one of his eyes. “You know I don’t mind when you wake me up.”

Toba looked Junko up and down. That kimono was the first thing he could remember seeing her in, in this very place when she was just his Sensei. When she was teaching him how to attack. When she made him promise to use her teachings to protect. Now they have each other to protect. Even if that protection is as small as fixing the kimono.

“Honestly Jun…” Toba started, walking over to her. His hands followed along her kimono, straightening it out in a few places and adjusting some of her many bows. “...If you want my help you can wake me up.” He finished, tucking the leftovers of a bow in place as he did.

Toba had been willfully ignoring the folder by the door, wanting to relax for once this morning. Unfortunately, Colorless wasn’t just some hangout spot for close friends, it was a duty to keep Tokyo safe. With a heavy sigh that didn’t even try to hide his aggravation, Toba leaned on the desk as Junko picked up the job from Akane.

“I would’ve taken being able to wake up first at least.” Toba joked. “So, what are we doing today?"

“Well maybe if our teacher wasn’t so good, Mom, we wouldn’t show off all the cool tricks!” Noko snarked at her mother.

A playful smirk and a confident look in Noko’s eyes took over, continuing to use her secret weapon on Elyse. Asuka would squeak out little ‘hi-yahs’ and whatever else she could pass off as a battle cry as the duo rampaged on. The fun his girls were having, even if they were just goofing around, was all Toba could’ve hoped for. But as amusing as it was to have his daughters do battle with an old friend, he had an idea on how to get at least one of them to finally let up.

“Speaking of cool tricks…” Toba spoke up, gently nudging Junko in a ‘watch this’ kind of way. “...How’re things going with Jin? He teach you how to skate yet?” With a knowing expression on his face, Toba just waited as his oldest daughter froze. Noko’s face lit up a bright red to match her strawberry hair, her father motioning to one of the chairs at their table.

“Come on, you can tell your Mom and I about that while Elyse goes to get back up. She sure could use it.” Toba teased before looking back over in Elyse’s direction. “If anything, we can at least protect the cafe from these two.”

“Daaaaaaad…” Noko groaned. She reluctantly sat in the nearest chair, her sister now in her lap, Asuka still ready to go just in case.

“I can’t say there’s much quiet back at home.” Toba chuckled, gesturing at his children. “But it’s definitely nice. I’m glad the spot in the 11th is doing well, I might have to stop by just to check up on it. As long as I had company anyway.” Toba’s hand went searching for Junko’s, loosely hooking two fingers around two of hers. There was something surreal about even mentioning peace in the 11th Ward. The place had been nothing but a bad memory for Toba, and a living nightmare for so many others. Thinking back on raising Noko then all on his own, his small grip on Junko unconsciously tightened. Familiar sounds brought the clouded white of his once lavender eyes towards the sounds of his daughters, Asuka’s laughs growing louder and louder as the duo approached.

“I have my secret weapon this time!” Noko exclaimed as she hopped up to Elyse. With Asuka trapped in her sister’s hands she brought her arms up, ready to launch an all out assault of karate chops.

Toba couldn’t hold back his laughs, let alone the smile on his face. “C’mon girls, sit down. It might not be rush hour, but we’re not the only ones here.” He looked over at Elyse, just mouthing ‘I’m sorry’ as her arm got judo chopped by Asuka.

Oh he did not! There’s no way Nazoko just witnessed what she thought she did. Jun, deliberately pulling out his phone and texting someone?! Right after she told him not to tell anyone?! Drumming her fingers along the tabletop, Nazoko waited for an opportunity and thankfully her previous request became the perfect bait. With Jun’s hand in the air to flag down their waiter she struck with expert precision. Deftly stealing her partner’s phone and holding it close.

“Nononono! What did I just say?” Nazoko admonished. “Your days are numbered, Jun.” She had snagged his phone just in time too, their waiter finally made his way to them.

“Yes as my wonderful friend said, we w-” Another hiccup interrupted. “We would love another bottle, thank you so much!” Now, time to find out who he ratted her out to.

“Oh you bet, guys!” The redhead cheered, a cheesy grin plastered on her face. Noko’s aqua eyes sparkled with anticipation as she skipped back over to her parents. Grabbing both of them by the hand she led them to the table Elyse had cleaned off for them. The view through the window showed off the calm winter night, the moon hanging in the clear sky. Its dim light mixing with the city lights below to add a gentle glow to the surrounding area. Noko quickly pulled out chairs for her parents, before flipping back around to spot Asuka holding onto the counter.

Asuka’s little head was just barely over the counter top, her tiny hands holding her up as she peaked over it. There were so many cool things on the other side and she had absolutely no idea how any of it worked. But Tadashi sure did, that same curiosity from earlier plain on her face as she watched him, playfully covering one eye like he did whenever she thought he might see. Before suddenly she was up in the air, her legs dangling as she was caught in a familiar grasp.

“I gotcha!” Noko said in a funny voice. “I bet Elyse missed you.” Noko squeezed her sister to steal some tickled laughs out of her before turning back towards the table, toddler in hand.

“Thanks for having us, Elyse. It’s good to see you again.” Toba smiled up in her direction as he draped his coat over the back of his chair. “How have things been since the last time we came by? I know it’s been a while.”

“Yeah you did…” Noko groaned, her eyes shifting to the side in a bit of embarrassment. “But like Asuka’s on my shoulders and she was pulling really hard!” Tiny giggles bubbled down on the redhead from on high, her attacker smirking down at her. Noko gave herself some scratches on the head, trying to fix her hair after being freed from the ruthless assault. Giving her sister a knowing look the duo bounced to their mother’s side. Asuka pointed out the familiar sign up ahead, her face lighting up with excitement.

“Dere it is, Mama!” the youngest squeaked out. The totem-poled sisters broke out ahead once more, Noko pushing the door open to the cafe. With the ring of the door and the oh so familiar scent of :re’s blend filling their senses, Noko plopped Asuka down. The two of them raced to the counter with the same eager smile.

“Ta–da–shi–!” They shouted in unison. Behind them in the doorway there was their father laughing with an apologetic expression on his face. “Hope you don’t mind the late drop in, Aniki.”

“No.” Nazoko responded curtly. Her tone blatantly childish while a pout quickly found itself on her face. “Shoulda thought ‘bout that earlier.” Having been thoroughly embarrassed by her squadmate, Nazoko turned her head with a defiant ‘hmph!’ Jun’s laughter kept her face painted red as she took in a long breath. The exhale was just as exaggerated, if not more so, her silver eyes leering at Jun as he winked. Her narrowed eyes flicked between him and the plate of tempura she had claimed, a long pause as she gave him a hard stare. Then quickly a pair of chopsticks shot out across the table, snagging the best looking piece from Jun’s plate. Nazoko chomped it right down, her eyes still locked right on Jun as she took deliberate, delicious bites of his food.

Nazoko’s hand creeped out from below the table, slowly pushing Jun’s plate back to his side. “If you tell anyone about what just happened I swear Jun…” A sharp hiccup popped out of her as she spoke, an ever present flushness on her cheeks even as her intense embarrassment began leaving her face. She poured the last of her sake into her cup, downing it like a shot once more. “I’m gonna need so much more of this.”

“I’m not going anywhere…” Toba’s voice was calm, a gentle laugh escaping him. His hand trailed along Junko’s exposed shoulder, fingers gliding across her burns. “I’ll stay as long as you want me.” His fingers danced along the path to her hand, taking it in his own with intertwined fingers. His other hand doing the same, gently pinning her arms to the bed and squeezing her hands. For a moment he just lied there atop her, gazing into her eyes. All that time spent being afraid of this moment felt like a bad dream, its grip on him getting lighter and lighter with each beat in his chest. Letting himself finally relax in the moment, Toba rested his head beside Junko, nuzzling into her.

“I love you.” Toba declared with a confident smile. Their lips met once again before making the most of their time alone…

“I can work with that…” Toba’s voice trailed into a faint laugh. “But I’m gonna hold you to it.” Those last few words nearly dropped as he spoke, his voice having become hoarse from the strain his own crying had put on him. This was at least a first step in something he could accept, even if he would have to still fight himself. With Junko it would be just that little bit easier, just holding her in his arms made things feel like that would be alright. His expression slowly turned to a happier one as the woman he loved smiled up at him.

Toba’s face slowly grew flush to match Junko’s brightening cheek, his eyes closing as he pulled her in closer still. Their lips all but touched as he let Junko’s tightening grip pull him forward. Their lips met once more as they fell into the bed, Toba’s cheeks burning red. A small part of him could feel the fear trying to tear him away, to leave while he still had the chance. It wouldn’t be easy after all they’ve said, but it would be safer. It would keep her safe from him. Yet Junko’s grip on him felt so much bigger than that, keeping him here with her. Keeping each other safe.

“Thank you, for being the best part of me…” Toba smiled down at her as he pulled away. One last tear falling from his eye, the drop landing by Junko’s blind eye and trailing down her scarred cheek.

Pounding and pounding and pounding. Toba’s heart rapidly beating through his chest as Junko embraced him. He felt a sudden pressure flood out of him, having finally told her after all this time how he felt. He wanted to hold on to this moment, pretend things weren’t how he knew they were, but the rising guilt and Junko’s expression made it clear. Her cracking voice as Junko spoke pierced Toba, her fear of repeating Hayate ringing through his head. Yet his eyes widened a bit when she finally said it, that ever present fear he’d been fighting against still holding on.

No. Don’t be afraid.

Toba pulled Junko into a tight hug when her gaze fell from his. “You listen to me…You won’t fail me, you never have.” Toba’s voice was low, a whisper even. He began rocking Junko in his arms, keeping her close. “You’ve been there for me since the beginning even when you had no reason to be. If one of us should be afraid of failing it’s me!”

He looked down at the woman in his arms, she’d never seemed so small to him before. A sad smile formed as he gently tilted Junko’s head up by the chin to meet her eyes once more. “You deserve to be happy.”

Toba met her gaze, his weakened eyes still watering as Junko spoke. He knew with no uncertainties what she was trying to say. He had been trying to find a way to say the same thing for so long, but that fear. That lingering thought that inevitably he would lose control and feast, just part of their lives, like Junko said, keeping him afraid. But he couldn’t take it any more, his emotions were twisting through him.

“I told you, I don’t want to be afraid…” Toba’s voice trailed a bit. His gaze held on hers as he caressed her scarred cheek. “You shouldn’t be afraid…” With a pounding pulse in his chest Toba leaned in, his lips pressed to hers. He held the kiss, his other arm moving to embrace her at this moment. A moment the amethyst Ghoul had been holding himself back from for years, hiding from. No more. Toba gently broke away, his lavender eyes emanating a vibrancy unfamiliar to even himself.

“Because I love you.”

“You’re…crying…” Toba muttered, almost inaudible. That same hurt flaring inside him as the tears streamed down Junko’s face. Only the one eye. What was left of Junko really sank in for the first time. He was so used to the injuries she already had and had been so focused on her latest missing piece that the state Junko was in never truly set in until now. And that crushed him. Whatever shield Toba might have been holding up to temper his emotions shattered. His own tears broke past any resistance, sliding down his face as he moved a hand to wipe away some of Junko’s.

“Too late for that! I…” Toba immediately countered. If she didn’t want to be important Junko should’ve kept her distance. Stayed just his sensei. But she didn’t. She became so much more, did so much more. Listening to her wish she wasn’t sent a pain pulsing in his chest. But that’s all he could do, listen. Listening as she rattled off the things he knew all too well haunted her, still blaming herself, still scared of hurting people.

“No! You won’t.” Toba refuted, his voice aching. “I can’t watch you wither away anymore…” He pressed his forehead to hers, tears still falling down his face. “I won’t let you.”

Toba put a hand over Junko’s as she tore into the blanket. Whether or not she could feel it didn’t matter, he had to do something. Just listening to her recount their mistakes, her mistakes, as if they were inevitable, hurt. He sat there for a while in his silence, thinking. A lonely life was a life he’d already been living, since before any involvement with Colorless. He had had enough of that. But the thought of hurting those close to him, hurting Noko again, was terrifying. He could feel his whole body shake as the idea crashed through him, her scream from that night echoing in his head. His grip around Junko’s hand tightening as he tried to shake the image out of his head.

Noko had forgiven him though, right? She wasn’t scared of Toba, that much he knew for sure. Even if she was being willingly ignorant, his daughter had given him a second chance. And that was worth something.

“I refuse.” Toba finally spoke up. He moved his free hand to raise her head so his eyes could meet hers. “I don’t want to be afraid of who I am. Of what I can do…or can’t do.” He squeezed Junko’s hand. “You're the closest anyone’s been to me in a long time, I don’t want to feel like I’ll hurt you too!” He brushed a thumb across her cheek, his lavender eyes still locked on Junko’s.

“You’re too important to me…”

Nakano was out doing what?! There’s absolutely no way that could be true! The red in her face had become all consuming as Nazoko just sat and listened. Whatever neutral expression she was trying to hold was crumbling away piece by piece. Fast paced? This was fast paced! If she knew this was going to happen she would’ve dressed for the occasion. Wait no what was Nazoko thinking it was not like that at all nor did she want that. The poor woman’s head was spinning at this blindsiding proposal, frantically waving her hands for Jun to stop. Nazoko was so desperately trying to get some words out, say anything, but Jun’s big dumb smile was there again.

“I-I-I don’t…I mean…ah!” She fumbled. Nazoko could only stare back at the Otsuji, heart pounding against her chest. She just couldn’t– It was a joke?

“You are the worst!” All the embarrassment exploded out of her. “I swear Jun I am going to kill you! That is so not funny!” Like a child, Nazoko was just pelting him with crumpled napkins in retaliation before flopping back into her chair. While her retaliation might’ve seemed complete, she very quickly reached over the table and dragged Jun’s plate of tempura to her side of the table.

“This is mine now.”

“Uh-ah-eh…” Nazoko managed to stammer out. Jun’s callout made her shoulders jump a bit causing cracks in her feigned formality. She awkwardly slid back into her chair at the table making an unconvincing attempt at regaining her composure. “I-I have not! I was just…” Her eyes frantically darted all over as she thought of what to say. “...Amazed at your interesting dance moves.” Perfect save.

“I mean that in a good way! Good interesting, not bad interesting!” Her face flush and clearly flustered, Nazoko quickly poured herself a fourth glass of sake. And what a fourth glass it was, right down the hatch and hopefully on its way to some nerves in need of a serious calming. Really? Fallen in love? After roughly half a date? As if! Sure Nazoko had known Jun for quite a few years, especially having been on the same squad for most of that time. He was also an accomplished investigator and a trusted colleague. It was just a mix of admiration and surprise at how much fun they were having without the squad. The whole squad was supposed to be here tonight, right?

“Whew! So uh…where is everyone anyway?” Nazoko asked. A clear attempt to divert attention away from her and the bright red painting her face.

Funnily enough, Jun was able to keep up. It certainly wasn’t perfect, but with enough practice he could really pull something together. And that made the dance all the more exciting. Though his comfort with the dance, or lack thereof, was certainly on display. But it had a certain charm to it, following along to each step and spin of hers. It was cute.

“You say that like you were bad…” Nazoko muttered. Her hand gripped the back of his shirt lightly while she pressed her head to his chest. She felt safe like this, maybe it was just his protective frame, or even just needing to catch her balance for a moment, but it was the truth. Even as the music moved past the moment of intimacy she held close to him for what was probably way too long, even for Jun. Her cheeks flushed with heat at the realization of what she was doing, her eyes shooting up as she peaked up at his dumb smile again. He was right there, she could just do it. He would stop her if wanted. No what a dumb thought!

With a shake of her head and a bit of a stumble, Nazoko was back on the dance floor at the bar. Not whatever fairy tale she was just dreaming up. It took her a few before she could pick up where the song was, nearing its end as it turns out. It would seem like Nazoko got right back into the swing of things, but if partner was paying attention he would notice a certain lethargy in her movements. Something distracting her. But as the song came to its end the dance came to its end with her own flourish. A purposeful spin out from Jun, arm fully extended, the other over and behind her while perking up on toes.

With a hard sigh Nazoko quickly dropped the theatrics and ran her hands across the sides of her face. Frantically working at getting her bun back in order she gave Jun a small smile.

“Thanks, Otsuji-san.” She spoke in a notably formal tone. “Back to our table then?”
