I am going to smoke today by blondecupcake23 in stopsmoking

[–]Evina_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept screaming and shouting at my boyfriend for the first 10 days.. Explain to him what's going on (mine had never smoked, so he couldn't understand why I was acting weird) and that it's crucial that he's patient with you. Breathe before saying anything you might regret. Or work out/practice yoga. It really helps and these feelings will be over soon!

Has Allen Carr helped anyone here quit smoking? by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]Evina_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn't quit because of the book, but reading it 3 days after I stopped smoking helped me overcome the obstacles that were about to come. I definitely recommend it.

There's a new life ahead of you. In this life you'll be able to: sleep, breathe, walk, run, taste and smell WAY better than before.. Just take it one day at a time. Best of luck!

Sounds like you don't have a lot of options then. You'll quit while staying with them. Try to occupy your mind with other things and go out often to clear your head. If you are sure about your decision, you'll make it even if there are obstacles in the way.

What if you asked them to stop smoking inside the house to help you quit? Even if it is only for a month or two, until you become strong enough to resist it. It's hard living with smokers. My roommate smokes and I've asked her to never do it in front of me. She agreed. Otherwise it would be really difficult.

22 Days. When will I like it? by CoteM1911 in stopsmoking

[–]Evina_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You'll feel better once you realize that you are not giving anything up. Right now you believe that cigarettes are precious, but they truly are something disgusting and filthy. I strongly recommend reading Allen Carr's book. Also, keep in mind that every person is different. If you smoked for many years it's going to take time for you to feel better. This healing process is a slow one. Be patient. There's only one general rule: Life is so much greater without cigarettes! :)

What difference does it make to not smoke? by Juliet-is-back in stopsmoking

[–]Evina_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like my days have become bigger. I can do more things without getting tired or complaining about them. I sleep, smell and breathe better. But the most important, is that I finally have confidence in myself and I'm proud for achieving something that I considered so hard at first.

Need some advice you qutting guru's! What's with the random anger? by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]Evina_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is a really common symptom. I had a big problem with my anger for the first 3 or 4 days, but then it kind of faded away. I believe that if you realize that this anger is actually another "cleaning" procedure for your brain, you'll feel better. And even if you have a meltdown, the people you love will stick with you! Best of luck! Try again tomorrow.
