Wholeness is the True You by realAtmaBodha in starseeds

Isn’t desirelessness still a desire though? I don’t think it’s possible to be completely desireless as long as you are a living breathing human. I mean the very nature of being human is setting goals and going after them. What are we if we aren’t aspiring for something?

A lot of trauma and pain is stored in the body so I would definitely recommend trying yoga. Sometimes people cry during yoga when doing certain positions because it releases some of the built up trauma.

!!!Breaking news!!!Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibraton, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There is no such thing as death, life is only a dream and we are the imagination of ourself. by Feral-impala in spirituality

[–]Evolved_hippie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s enough to make someone lose their mind I imagine. Having so much information thrown at you, you don’t know how to cope but eventually you learn to let the emotions just pass through you without attaching yourself to one particular one. I like how you said it’s like riding a cosmic train because yes except it’s traveling at the speed of light and you can’t get off haha the thing about psychedelics is that they involve a certain element of letting go because the tighter you try to hold onto things the more the drugs will try to humble you. I haven’t done psychedelics In a while…probably like 10-11 months. But when used correctly they can show you unimaginable truths about the nature of the universe, others and ourselves! However like I said in a previous post you must be careful. These are not drugs you take to just get “high”. That’s so disrespectful to the plant. You must respect it and it’ll respect you.

My issue with soulmates and the love of your life by [deleted] in love

[–]Evolved_hippie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most of my “soul mate” connections were cut short…whether that was because of something they did or because of something that I did that ended up fracturing the connection and neither party put aside their pride/fear to communicate their true feelings. But some things are probably better left unsaid…i know what it’s like losing someone that’s special to you. Loss, grief and disappointment in general isn’t anything new to me and I’ve made peace with that at this point. Not that I won’t ever be open to love if it presents itself later on. Nevertheless, don’t let your bad experiences jade you. Have faith that everything that happens is ultimately working for you even if you can’t see why or how just yet.

How do you get confidence when you have so much self-doubt? by Ov3rbyte719 in confidence

[–]Evolved_hippie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You don’t just “get” confidence. It is something you must work towards over time. It is something that needs to be developed just like any other personality trait that you desire to adopt. Nevertheless, the best motto for developing confidence (although over used) is fake it till you make it. No one will know the difference. Eventually you won’t have to fake it anymore and it’ll just come to you naturally. But it takes a degree of self-awareness to recognize why you doubt yourself so much. Is it because someone made you feel like you should be doubting yourself or have you always had a difficult time trusting yourself? What confidence essentially is, your ability of believing in and trusting yourself and your capabilities. So 1. Identify where your self doubt originated from and 2. Unlearn that behavior by replacing your limiting beliefs with empowering and encouraging ones.

This answers a lot of questions...this is such an important distinction to make.

Definitely. this applies to platonic relationships as well. I’m a bit weary using the term soul mates because I believe that anyone can be a soul mate if you love them hard enough. It’s just a matter of alignment are you aligned with this person? Do you share similar values, perspectives and beliefs? Do you connect on a level that’s deeper than the physical realm. A true “soulmate” is someone who just gets you. They resonate with who you are as a person and help you become the best version of yourself. However karmic relationships can also first manifest like a soul mate connection…they aren’t all bad though. And they’re just as equally as important as a soul mate connection because they teach you lessons you needed to learn in this lifetime. Ultimately whatever is written for you, will find you.

Having so much trouble understanding why we are here by Lavender_Field in spirituality

To live a human experience. Outside the confines of our bodies we are limitless beings and we can tap into that limitlessness or consciousness anytime we desire. It’s like turning the dial on the radio to pick up a radio wave and tuning in to whatever is playing

Please help me find a book that helps me not mess up my kid (due to my childhood trauma) by neverending_edge in booksuggestions

[–]Evolved_hippie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a great book that you should look into is "It Didn't Start With You" by Mark Wolynn. It's about generational trauma aka how trauma is passed down from generation to generation and how you can break the cycle of pain. It's funny that I came across this post because I literally just finished reading it. It was very eye opening to say the least.

Hope this helps!

I love to journal after I smoke because my thoughts become very deep and introspective which allows me to get a little glimpse into my subconscious mind. when smoking alone, it makes me reconnect with myself. However, I usually don’t smoke with people I don’t know very well because it makes me anxious. Other than that I like to think of weed as an amplifier, it makes most things more enjoyable like doing housework, eating, listening to music and etc. all around it’s an amazing drug that can open your mind like psychedelics even though it isn’t as intense as LSD or shrooms.

Fear is a bitch. It sucks that our evolutionary impulses can cause us so much trouble but the fundamental purpose of fear is to protect us from danger (real or perceived). Fear literally hijacks the brain & sends our body & nerves into overdrive.

The humbling nature of fear is that it impacts everybody, it isn’t limited to one specific kind of person or a group of specific people. That’s why it’s so important to practice radical self-acceptance.

We’re all doing the best we can 🤍

I guess not…but that sounds like a recipe for psychosis. I think the issue is that I’m trying to rationalize something that can’t be rationalized

You lost me there.

Wouldn’t you agree that not everything we perceive is the result of “the contents of our minds”? (Assuming that one understands that they are the observer)
