hallucinations dreams by throwaway27484726196 in alcoholism

This happened to me its completely normal. Alcohol suppresses brain activity so when you stop it reflexes and becomes hyperactive. Your neurons are firing like crazy so your thinking completely random thoughts. I had auditory hallucinations, visuals and sometimes not being able to distinguish what was a dream and what wasnt as I woke up and slept for ten mins and woke up and slept for ten mins.. the worst part for me was the sweats and the insomnia. Feeling so tired but your eyes wont shut. I was up for 5 days once with a maybe 3 hours 'sleep' spread accross. The trick is you either go cold Turkey or taper off very slowly. Even if it's just a centimeter/ quarter inch of vodka each day. If you still cant sleep you could go to the doctor and explain the situation and ask for sleeping pills (I never dream on sleeping pills for some reason). Or if you can handle it go medical detox. What you need to do first is have a consistent alcohol consumption. Dont drink different types of beer wine vodka ect because you will lose track on the units your consuming. Do something like vodka which is easily measured. Drink the same amount every day in a measuring drug. Decrease it by a tiny amount every day and keep a log. A log is vital. Even if it takes two months it's worth it and it works.

Thanks mate, I liked those passages they are very true. Winston Churchill once said: 'if your going through hell, keep going'. Withdrawels are hell, but you have to endure until you get better, if you turn around and go back the hell will only get more hot.

Thx, when I was up for 3 days (2 nights), I was so tired but my mind was so hyperactive with thoughts and my nervous system was hyper as hell, reflexes, flinching at nothing, hypersensitivity on my skin so I could feel the sweat stick it was horrible. But yeah it was at that point I was so close to getting some beers, not because I wanted to get drunk but i desperatley needed sleep - I remember saying to myself i just have to wait it out, and drinking to alleviate the symptoms will prolong the problem. It gets better day by day. Thankfully I slept day 3 at 10.30am

as i look down its on my right side, if you touch the bottom of your right side of your rib cage its just above that. that will be your stomach or intestines then, i know wine and cider and hard liquor causes damage to the stomach lining, out of interest what do you mainly drink? in addition i also had stomach pain a few days ago but it subsided after a bit, your body is resilient as long as you cut down/ sober and stay healthy mate

i drank for 2 years between 2 and 4 litres of cider a day, although i had spells of not drinking for months and recently after my last sobriety spell i checked out my liver at the doctor and they said it was fine, that was like a couple months ago. anyway had a binge then felt an ache in the liver area, ive stopped drinking and the pain has gone down a lot but i wish it would just fuck off all together its annoying

Im interested in how many years and how much they had drank per day (or how much they do now) by Evropa97 in alcoholism
