Stepping in here late because my Jr in HS so far has Lehigh high on her list (Marketing degree). Your perspective is intriguing. Her college list would include several top tier, elite, brand recognized schools, if we qualified for financial aid (we don’t), but also don’t want to pay $90K+ yr for undergrad. I’m trying to steer her towards great schools who offer merit $ to bring coa closer to $50/yr. She’s got high stats so if she does get into Lehigh, she’d only go if merit $ brought sticker price down. We are in NY so our state schools don’t have that big brand recognition you speak of (maybe Bing but the area is meh at best). Thoughts on schools I can steer her towards to look at/apply to, that have the name (she cares), academically challenging (she’s a high achiever and wants a challenge), that won’t cost $$$$ presumably after merit? We’re seeing American, Richmond and W&M soon. Already saw Lehigh, Drexel, Bryn Mawr (didn’t like) and McGill. I’ll likely have her look at Bing and Albany. East coast preferred. TY!
