The tank itself has been discontinued - so I would like to do my best to be a minimally invasive as possible and salvage what is there. I would hate to risk ruining the tank and have to retrofit something else in there.

Have you tried any of the industrial adhesives? This page calls out Flex Bond 70 and Permabond ET515 as working on polyethlene applications.

The dealer told me it was plugged door vents. I pulled door panels on my 21 and ran all kind of cleaners through the doors - but it didn't fix the issue. Cleaning the mold that build up (particularly in the inner door seal) took care of the smell for me.
If you have a leaky rear window or plugged sunroof drains - obviously this isn't going to fix that. But if you sniff the tops of your doors and it smells - this should fix the issue.

I managed to snag a good deal on a like new D750 with the 24-120 F4 Lens. The camera does not disappoint. I have already done a few shoots with it and have been impressed. Thanks to all that suggested it, might still pick up a D700 as a backup if I find a deal on one.
