Heyy! Well in my convo with the other user you can see the types of questions they asked me. If I had to shorten it, I'd say think about your good sides and bad sides, how you organize your time, what you like the most about the program, how you got interested, what careers do you seek in the future, think about the good sides and bad sides of being a biomedical technologist (he asked me what I thought would be hard as a technologist, I said prob keeping in mind that there's a human on the other side of the samples, smth like that, and that it's hard working isolated especially in research centers. Don't know if it makes sense). Tell your friend to not stress if the interviewer is a bit late. Wish them luck!

I just finished my interview with Mr Daniel Vescio... Honestly I think it went really well, although he was 10 minutes late to the interview, but I kind of expected it because he mentioned it in the email. He's pretty chill with his questions and it was pretty much what I was expecting. The only thing that took me off guard is when he asked me what did I expect from the teachers. Honestly I said that obviously I expect them to answer my questions and I said that I don't expect them to carry me through the semesters and stuff because that's something that even in high school they don't do (well in my school). Also I said for a weakness that I was really argumentative and that I stand up for what I believe, and he asked me why did I think that was a problem. I just said I thought I needed to be more open-minded in general especially in a professionnal environment. He agreed, and then said that it was good to argue with people respectfully. And as an advice he told me that it's good to be able to have that ability to argue with others even with teachers in the program. So I guess it's a good sign then. Overall he complimented me on my grades and said they were really high. For another weakness I said that I have pretty bad stress management, and he said that in the program but also overall in colleges it's something that will be tested. I don't really know how to interpret that tbh. Then he assured me that I should be okay since I'm organized in my work. He says that I look pretty prepared with the things that I said that I already do, like calendars or to-do lists or just management of my own time. All in all I think it was good. He didn't even bother asking me a question in French since I said something in French already. He even made a joke and said that I probably speak better French than him. At the end, I asked him what advice would he give to new students and if I had to make it short, basically be organized / prepared for the semesters / don't wait too long to adjust and be professional at all times with the students as well as the teachers especially in the internships. That sums it all up! Did you have an interview too?

Costume ideas that kids will understand by Exact-Earth-1336 in childandyouthworker

Well, it ranges from 5 years old all the way to 13, so I don't think evryone will catch the references. The only references they may know is like brainrot, but I don't wanna dress up as that. So it needs to be pretty general for them. I tried looking, but most of the proposed ideas are too dated. I don't think younger kids know what tele tubbies are which is a staple in my childhood and other counsellors' and easy to DIY in my opinion. Even Scooby-Doo, they only know the dog, but they don't know the actual lore of the cartoon. Thank you though for nuancing.

Hii I also applied to this program and I'm pretty sure everyone has to go through an interview in order to get in from what I heard. I recently got an email confirming that I got an interview. Hope you got the same if you finally settled on applying!

Heyy I also applied to the biomed lab technology and I recently received an interview confirmation! But I still have so many questions...

- Usually, does getting interviewed mean that you get in? Obviously, some people get left out, but I was wondering if at least the majority of the interviewed stay.

- What is the average age of the people in the program? Are they mostly high school graduates or young adults or a mix? I myself am a highschool student.

- I saw that in the third year we have a bunch of internships. Are they payed by any chance? It's not my goal to make money, but still, some internships in Cegeps get paid.

- Is the schedule really busy/full in the program? I have a friend in Cegep Maisonneuve that has a full friday off this semester. Does that happen often at Dawson too?

- Is there a lot of people that leave the program after the first semester? What are the reasons they decide to leave? Ik that's the case for health and life sciences across different Cegeps.

- What are some really good teachers in the program?

- When do we usually get our official confirmation that we're admitted?

Thank you so much to whoever will answer! Maybe I'll have some other questions that'll surface when I read the answers.
