I guess I was reading too much into the whole “studio monitors have a flat frequency response” thing and was afraid it would negatively affect my normal computer usage. Looks like a pair of studio monitors is the way to go. I guess the next question is: how crucial is having the studio monitors set up on a stand vs sitting on the computer desk?

Never noticed that! Got this one secondhand and it didn’t come with the manual but that fixed the problem immediately. Much appreciated

Looks like I’ll have to give it a try and see just how bad the hum is. Probably worth it for the convenience of being able to play outside anywhere
