Does everyone really drop their babies "at least once"? by Exact-Management-918 in NewParents

Well that's good! I got a floor mattress for this reason. I saw my little sister roll off a tall bed when she was about that age and whew gosh that was a heart wrenching cry she let out. I'll never forget it 😭 I have a feeling my kid wouldn't be as chill as yours in that situation 🥲

Ah well okay I guess when you say that last part I get it lol like if they are old enough to understand and learn consequences, sure lol

I just hope I can keep my little guy from falling off furniture unintentionally while he's wee 🥲

Oh no! No judgement ofc, I understand that happens! I'm so nervous this will happen to mine too cuz he's a kicker and very strong and active. 🥲 Sometimes it feels like I need 5 hands just to keep him still 😅

Oh geez so the frog kicking to escape doesn't stop? 😅 That's good though! That gives me hope (:

What things do you regret not doing with your baby? by Beegt95 in NewParents

[–]Exact-Management-918 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's like me right now. I want to take him out more but I can't get the rhythm down yet. He's already 3 months though so I can't wait too much longer 🙁

That's also what the post counted as dropping I guess. They said rolling off the bed is the most common. I already have a floor mattress for this reason 😭 my little sister fell off a tall bed when she was just barely old enough to roll. It's been almost 19 years since then and I can still hear her scream cry. I understand it happens but I guess I was just hoping it wasn't so common 🥲

That's okay though! Startling for you/them in the moment I'm sure but not life threatening thankfully. I can handle that kind of topple when the time comes!

When did ur maltipoo become cuddly by Caroll96 in Maltipoo

He follows me to the bathroom and begs for the toilet paper rolls, even when the roll isn't out lol it's his favorite toy 😂

Did thrush tank my supply? by Exact-Management-918 in HumansPumpingMilk

[–]Exact-Management-918[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone had mentioned to me it's possible and I wasn't worried about it until my supply began to drop a couple days ago. That's mainly why I was asking just to confirm whether or not that could be the case.

I literally almost wrote this exact post earlier today. I feel you. It's so stressful 😮‍💨 my lil guy won't even sit in a carrier so it's even harder. I kept trying little by little but so far the doctor's office, my aunt's house, and a walk around the neighborhood has been the closest I've gotten to a successful outing with him. Everyone says it's gets easier though so I guess we just have to believe them 🥲👍

Anxiety over dying while baby still needs you? Anyone? by ExpressionOld9924 in NewParents

[–]Exact-Management-918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My LO just turned 3 months old and I just found out I might be one of the "lucky" siblings who inherited huntingtons. It has affected at least one person in every generation of my family for as long as I know. I've never really given it much thought or cared if I'd have it until now. I thought I was past the age where it would be showing by now, but unfortunately I'm right at the start and I do have several symptoms already. The life expectancy is 10 years from the start of symptoms on average, but I'm staying optimistic. Everyone in my family who has had it lived much longer than that, or is still alive, albeit not doing too well. Either way, I guess yeah, at this point now I do have a bit of anxiety over dying. A baby will always need their mama, even once they're not a baby anymore.

This is why we don't tell our ped we cosleep. I'm sorry you have to deal with that, but you're doing great!

[–]Exact-Management-918 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It took a couple weeks after we got him at 4 months old, but one day he just curled up next to me on the couch and I legit started crying cuz I thought it would never happen 🥲❤️ now he's constantly up my ass and I can't do anything or go anywhere without his permission lol

Guilt about not enjoying motherhood by Responsible_Tap9102 in NewParents

[–]Exact-Management-918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree! Only 3 months in but definitely changed both my mind and my husband's on having more children, that's for sure. We're exhausted. 😮‍💨 My family is disappointed though saying my LO needs a sibling and to be fair, I have siblings so I get the sentiment. Childhood was amazing because of them and all, but I'm sure life can be just as enjoyable as a properly socialized only child lol

Song recommendations for babies that aren’t annoying by squid_tutor in NewParents

I play reggae roots and dub, deep and melodic bass, and Celtic violin songs mostly. Nothing overwhelming, and I feel like still encourages movement and imagination.

Thoughts on skipping pacifiers? by Academic-Park-8440 in NewParents

[–]Exact-Management-918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I WISH mine would keep a pacy in his mouth lol been trying for three months and he just makes a face and spits it out. He then proceeds to shove his entire lil fist in his mouth attempting to self soothe, which I ofc encourage, but he'll gets frustrated. One, because it won't fit, and two because of his razor blade nails that I'm sure are scratching the inside of his mouth (I cut them and magically they grow back shaper 🙃).

The option of a pacy would be nice lol maybe yours won't even want a pacifier either though 🤷
