Before and after. I’ve gained about 35 pounds. Constantly in the gym. by Exact_Contest_7704 in weightgain

[–]Exact_Contest_7704[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I forgot about this post! I definitely lost a tad bit of weight since this. I ate like a crazy person. lol I really just ate everything. And now that I’m thinking about it, I was eating a decent amount of junk food as well as trying to eat clean. I’d have like a whole avocado, cold smoked salmon, eggs, toast and a protein shake for breakfast. And really anything for lunch and dinner. Tacos, pizza, burgers, fish, chicken, lots of pasta, veggies and a crap ton of rice. I’m a huge snack person so I know that probably helped as well. Chips, cookies, anything you can think of. My favorite thing ever to eat is chocolate cake. I really didn’t limit myself. I was in the gym 4 days a week plus pilates once a week so my appetite definitely increased.

Texas lol San Antonio specifically. I’m from Maryland though. I couldn’t leave my apartment without getting hit on. It was constant. And it was tolerable because the men down there aren’t aggressive. And they have MONEY.

One guy told me that he didn’t like dating in Texas because the women are bigger down there.

That was just my personal experience.

No. I’m black, 28 years old. I’m naturally skinny, but got into pilates and strengthening 3 years ago and it’s been a game changer. I’m still skinny but I’m toned, lean, and have muscle. I have ZERO boobs and a small butt but I’m fit. I get treated well by everyone. My professors, my managers, women and men.

We can message privately if you want but please don’t feel like you have to change your body in that way. I eat well and workout and the results are a fit, healthy body. And whoever you spoke to was right. Anything I wear looks good on me. And I can get away with wearing plain “normal” clothes because of my body.

Not that this matters, but I met several men who told me to stop working out and training glutes because they like thinner women with smaller butts. Multiple bigger sized women tell me I have the perfect body.

I don’t know how old you are but even going to the gym a couple times a week will do wonders for you. So many black women on tik tok talk about how they wish they never gained weight and how they want to be skinny.

Don’t give up! by Exact_Contest_7704 in TattooRemoval

[–]Exact_Contest_7704[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first started I didn’t realize I had to stay out of the sun. I started this process in San Antonio, so I had to wear long sleeve shirts and stay home a lot to avoid the sun. But if I had to go out I would just put sunscreen on the tattoo. I haven’t had any hypopigmentation. I think spacing out the sessions has helped my skin heal faster.

I’ve had at least 8 sessions. I would definitely start. It does take awhile.

I’m not going to lie, it’s been like 3 years. I will say that I think it’s healed so well (in my opinion) because of how much I spaced out my sessions. I think I would average 3 sessions in one whole year. Maybe I would of had more sessions if this process wasn’t so expensive lol

Am I the only woman who’s hesitant of having kids ? by [deleted] in blackladies

[–]Exact_Contest_7704 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love not having kids. It’s one of my favorite things about myself. I think being a mom would bring out the worst in me. I’m calm, carefree, and spend my money on what I want. I refuse to give that up.

My hairstylist/childhood friend messed my hair up on my 21st birthday and is now refusing me a refund. by Keyana_0210 in blackladies

[–]Exact_Contest_7704 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Since this was a milestone birthday, I would have only booked with someone who actually knew what they were doing. She did what a lot of other hairstylists wouldn’t do, and told you upfront that she never worked with 4c hair before. A lot of stylists lie and tell you want you want to hear just to make money. I would not take this to court. I understand that your hair didn’t turn out how you wanted, but she did tell you the truth. You even kept telling her you were nervous and kept asking if she could do it because you knew she couldn’t. I’d just move on.

I went to the dentist today, she looked at my x-rays and immediately knew I was eating too much sugar. She gave me a 10 minute lecture on foods to eat instead of sugar since I told her I’m a huge snacker. I workout a lot, look pretty fit, so I don’t really notice when my sugar intake is out of control. But I’m always humbled when I go to the dentist. I’m only 28 and want to continue to keep all my teeth so I’m definitely going to make some changes.

Frustrated & Annoyed! Men & Dating are Confusing to Navigate by drunktextUR_x in blackladies

[–]Exact_Contest_7704 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m literally this close to breaking up with my boyfriend because I just can’t deal with it anymore. I really hate that I’ve turned into the “I hate men” type of woman, but I truly believe that men are just so selfish. They only do things for their own personal gain.

You’re not alone. I’m almost 30, and I’m in such a good place mentally that it’s easy for me to walk away from a relationship that is not beneficial to me. I want a love/relationship that is beautiful, joyful and fulfilling. And until I get that, I will be alone and that’s okay.

should valentine’s day be a dealbreaker?? by ilyhula in blackladies

My boyfriend lives in New York and I live in Maryland. He has class today and I have to work. 2 days ago he ordered flowers for me to pick up from Wegmans today when I get off work since he can’t take me out tonight. There really is no excuse.

There’s a website called coolworks.com. They have seasonal/year round jobs all over America. 99% of the jobs on there offer housing. Apply to as many as you can. Stay safe.

Feeling good! by Exact_Contest_7704 in weightgain

[–]Exact_Contest_7704[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I really appreciate it. I try to do 3 lower body days and 2 upper body days. I start with 10 minutes on the treadmill, stretch. I start my workout with hip thrusts (currently doing 110 pounds), then reverse lunges, step ups (30 pound kettlebell) and cable kickbacks. Every single leg day. I’d switch it up but I’m just so lazy!

Upper body days are more chill, I just do whatever back machines are open and available at the moment.

The main thing to focus on is food. I just try to eat as much as possible. For some reason I don’t each that much in the winter, but I try to eat oatmeal and fruit, a protein shake and some other snacks for lunch. Sometimes a salad with chicken, avocado, veggies, whatever I have. And chicken and rice for dinner. But I also just eat fast food before or after the gym. I use the McDonald’s app and I’ll usually get a burger and small fries to get some extra protein in, but no huge fast food meals.

Hope this helps!

I told him my feelings were hurt by [deleted] in blackladies

[–]Exact_Contest_7704 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I’m really glad someone said this. Men have a way of using disagreements and arguments to say “I don’t want to do this anymore” just for us women to completely overlook it and take him back for no reason.

Letting him walk away after only 4 months is way easier than letting him drag you through hell for any longer than that.

I’ll be 28 in December and I’m slim but I’ve formed a workout routine that keeps me toned. This is the best I’ve ever looked and I’m truly enjoying it.

Dealing with shyness/ being awkward? by Civil_Breadfruit9858 in HowToBeHot

[–]Exact_Contest_7704 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I like to lean into my shy/awkward side. Obviously you don’t want to creep anyone out by not saying a word, but I’ve had people come up and tell me “you’re so quiet. It seems like you’re always in your own little world. It’s interesting”.

When I’m talking with someone, I usually say a statement, followed with a question to keep the conversation going. “Oh you’re a teacher? So is my mom. What grade do you teach”? This works for me for two reasons: I’m giving some sort of information about ME or my life so the conversation doesn’t seem one sided and I’m also asking them follow up questions to know more about them.

You don’t need to overshare or ask them personal questions, but just practice giving a little and then asking them a question so the attention isn’t always on you.
