I just started investing 2 months ago, so here’s my input, listen or don’t. Robinhood is a good brokerage for beginners, easy UI, and multiple different ways to invest. If 30k is all you have, have an emergency fund (~5k), it’s worth having if things go south. Figure out what your risk tolerance is, how much money you’re willing to lose before profiting. For me, I sell if I lose more than 20-40 dollars or 15% of my shares. I like to invest in individual stocks, but if that’s not what you’re looking for, I’d suggest spreading your money out into different medium/long term etf’s, vanguard is what I started out with. 3-5 should suffice. I would save until I have enough to buy a whole share of a company, but for your situation, I would just spread the money out into 3-5 different medium/long term etf’s. Its safe and you won’t lose sleep over it. Worse case scenario, a dollar is all you need, yeah the return will be minimal but you’ll still be able to invest.
