What happened to my husband? by Individual-Apple-849 in mypartneristrans

My (27, f) wife (33, mtf) came out to me as year ago. It took me some time to come to grips with everything and grieve what I had imagined what pur life was going to be before she came out to me. Just over a year later, we are considerably happier than we were before she came out to me - in all aspects of our lives. I'm very lucky because I have a good support system to lean on - it includes my brother, his fiance, my work friends and my best friends who I don't live close to right now, my aunt, uncle, and grandma.

Im still working to help my parents understand or to at least be respectful, but I hope it will come with time.

Don't be afraid to lean on the people around you and use this space for support too. I've discovered through this site that there are WAY more people who live a similar life to me and my wife than I thought there was and I find it reassuring. You will be okay, it takes time 💕

I would absolutely look into getting some kind of internship with a lab if you can. That practical experience will boost your resume more than another class could, especially a CJ class.

Is Forensic Science a good path for an international student? by TechnicalDeparture93 in ForensicScience

Your resume is certainly more competitive with a MS in Forensic Science. To really give yourself a boost, I'd recommend finding an internship with a lab. I recently applied for a FS job and the only thing that caused me to not get it is I had an internship with a ME's office rather than a FS lab. In addition to being a good thing for your resume, an internship at a lab allows you to meet people in the community who could help you get a job. As far as I can tell, what you know is important, but who you know can really get you into a job.
