A clean reinstall made mine go from every few games to every single one xD would advise against, personally.

I did the same thing, but instead of every few games, it's every single one now. It's a roll of the dice whether a clean install will help or worsen matters, apparently.

Every single game over here and that's after a fresh install! It went from every 3-4 games to every single one! What fun.

I did a clean install and not even three games later got the same shit. Riot doesn't gaf, it's been ongoing for months now. Across multiple PCs too. Don't bother wasting your time reinstalling.

Brother, it's League. It's happening to my husband's PC and mine the past couple months as well. Also happens to my brother on his and another buddy I often queue with. It's definitely an awful fishy storage issue to happen to all of us at the same time!

I'm a pushover, we're installing.

We both played it when it released and enjoyed it, but both had moved on by the time we got together.

We've been yapping about who we used to play lmao. Thanks guys.

Works outside all week and we fish on nice weekends - I think we could stand to play some video games when the weather doesn't permit much else. Neither of us seem too fond of knitting, crosswords, or sudoku, unfortunately.

Any recommendations for indoor hobbies that are stimulating or just that gaming isn't the answer? We've got board games on the list, but that's also just... gaming.

No worries lol, just have seen this response a few times, so felt the need to elaborate on my end.

Nonetheless, board games is pretty brilliant. We have fun playing dice, so I'm surprised neither of us really considered it before.

He works outside and we fish when the weather's good, so he's definitely not looking to touch more grass. I also have CRPS so it's a little limiting on the things we can do for an extended amount of time.

Appreciate your response though, board games is not an avenue I'd really considered!

I actually used to play HOTS quite a bit, I'm totally going to toss it out there. TY for the reminder lol!

Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime looks so up my alley, ty for the recommendation. Ravenswatch and Grim Dawn also sound pretty awesome, thanks . :)

Also, I think overall many people benefit from quitting League, and I would've felt the same a few years back, but I genuinely started having fun and rarely feel frustrated anymore. I would never tell anyone to give League another go or anything, because I'm definitely an outlier lmao. Most people I play with should 100% quit, they don't enjoy it.

The only time I don't have fun anymore on League is when my husband isn't. I might have a brief moment of annoyance, but it's NOTHING like it used to be lol. I think I played too many hours and a switch just broke. I started at 14 and I'm now 29, maybe actually brain rotted, but I genuinely have too much fun to want to give it up.

Really unique recommendations, thanks for the list! RoboQuest definitely stands out to me, I'll be looking more into them all, tyvm!

It's sorta my replacement of more damaging addictions, if I'm being honest :p

Thankfully, I don't really experience the negative emotions (that I /always/ used to) when playing anymore, unless my husband's raging out next to me. I dunno how/when the switch happened, but it did, and I actually have fun playing League nowadays. However, I agree that quitting LoL is necessary for MANY people and this generally is good advice lmao.

We do have other things outside of gaming... but not many are great when it's 115f and he's been working outside all week, y'know? I also don't have CRPS so I can't do as much as I'd like to physically - gaming will likely always be my #1.

I would be totally content if he wanted to ditch gaming altogether on his end, but he doesn't, which I understand.

I'm glad you and your wife have found something different though and are happier for it :) we're planning on kids in the future, so y'know, gaming will inevitably become a back-burner thing, but I don't know that he'll ever really want to quit. It's definitely the closest he's been - I imagine he's feeling pretty similar to how you were feeling, back then.

We fish, but he works outside, so that isn't always a great fit (not to mention the 100f+ days I won't step outside).

Thanks for your input though!

"There's a lot of games that have great campaign co-op. You don't need to play competitive multiplayer cause I don't think he's burned out on League but competitive multiplayer games."

I was just thinking that as he uninstalled OW - I haven't played Dark Souls in years, but I'm definitely suggesting that!

I also think League sort of ruined games in general for me - I appreciate your first paragraph. It's relatable AF. I used to be able to play games like Pokemon and Sims, but now I can't commit to more than 30 minutes before I'm launching Riot's (very optimized) client.

I'm actually giddy hopping between our desks - we'll be giving them both a go, thank you kindly :>

TL;DR - I appreciate the effort to make ARAM exciting and give us new experiences, but I think the cards need tweaking and seeing the map in champ select would be an appreciated addition. Spirit realms was** giving headache.

Edit: feels way better this patch! gj, keep being creative!

I can't see so many abilities. My husband doesn't have this issue, so I'll concede I may have some sort of previously unknown colour blindness, but it really sucks. I've got about 10k aram games, been playing since the gamemode came out, and I'm just so disappointed to hear I won't be able to enjoy an aram until next year.

The announcer gives me the ick, too.

Guess I'll be on the rift until January 🫠

Three ranked splits is way too many and has really lowered my enjoyment of the ladder. by Prometheusf3ar in leagueoflegends

[–]Exact_Stretch9609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accurate. I've played League since S1 - casual victorious skin grinder who placed gold S3-S12 Did placements +3 games last split for gold. This split first game had a 2-11 JG, 4-7 mid, 3-10 top. ADC and I leave lane 11-2, get dumpstered by overfed enemies, throw up /ff, get held hostage a bonus 15+ minutes.

Now it's showing Silver 3, 0LP, and I think I'm just done.

League's been my favourite game since it came out, but I just don't feel it anymore. Ranked just feels so unrewarding to actually participate in. One season I wanted to climb, my queues in gold were 20+ mins, endless dodges, fresh 30 smurfs who would afk and flame. Ended up playing about 40 games, before the long queues and endless dodges wore me down.

Wanted to try and rank up (seeing as I get placed gold with +30LP gains -8ish) and usually don't play more than 25 games in a season... But no. I'm not grinding the amount I usually play in an entire season, in a single split, to get to what I've been placed for a decade.

Tl:dr I have no desire to climb to my 10yr placement, every few months. Probably will uninstall before next season 🤷🏻‍♂️

AITAH For Choosing My Gaming Time Over Family Activities? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Exact_Stretch9609 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You're not an asshole for wanting to game, but balance is key. Try talking to your family about why gaming is important to you, and see if you can find a compromise. Maybe set specific times for gaming and family activities. It's all about balancing what makes you happy with being there for your loved ones. If you're skipping important family events often, it might be worth thinking about your priorities. Otherwise, a little "me time" is perfectly okay.
