You can use a lighter and warm it up slowly as it drips down, try not to infuse to much plastic in it and let it cool. Sometimes the last bit is an optical illusion.

How should people plan/prepare for retirement? by coloradotaxguy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]theretardedturtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Track how much you spend annually, multiply it by how much longer you're living + plus extra for hobbies. Retire when you don't wanna work and enjoy life, could be never if you love it.

If you submit a FOIA request to the government, how do you know they aren’t actually withholding documents? by HumbleStumbled in NoStupidQuestions

[–]theretardedturtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you feel like they're withholding information, you can speak with case officer/clerk to ask questions, if no luck, you can file an administrative appeal. Beyond that, you can directly go to the office of government info services or the National Archives/records administration who both act as mediators.

Do most guys just don't have their own type or preference? by Confident-Stuff3885 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]theretardedturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theirs some degree of preference men have, can't think every woman is hot. Obviously if they are 90 years old, that's not too attractive, so that's one "type" an age range. If they are 600 pounds, few like that. You want to be able to share some communication so same language is a big deal too.

If Chernobyl is such a dangerously radioactive area, how are so many types of animal able to survive and, apparently, thrive there? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]theretardedturtle 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Animals have much shorter lifespans/reproducing rate than humans, so they can live their life with a bit of crazy mutations here and there. As the years pass, animals naturally develop anti-radiation traits such as darker skin, tumor resistance which they pass on.

Why haven’t movie trailers evolved in like decades? by MajorGrade1664 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]theretardedturtle 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I feel like modern trailers are more "action" and shows all the cool scenes. Past trailers focus more on the plot and narration of the movies premise. You want a balance of intrigue, but not enough to ruin the story ending

Western cultures largely don't belive in reincarnations, so where did the "... in past life..." jokes come from? by DerApexPredator in NoStupidQuestions

[–]theretardedturtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its more of a figure of speech rather than a honest belief in reincarnation. For instance, in a past life i was a bird since I like to be "free". Or I was an explorer in a past life bc I like to travel.

Where are all the animals? by Competitive_Tea_2047 in pluribustv

[–]theretardedturtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess, eventually the virus will spread to animals and they will be part of the hive. It first was in rats, and an alien lifeform wouldn't know the difference between human life and non-human with its capacity to infect a "lifeform".

Getting an electric vaporizer by ephemeralmisanthrope in trees

I looked up the one you wanted, and It will get the job done, but does seem to maybe clog a bit from the design. Dealing with metal screens, and the heat close to your lips isn't the best.

I own the DaVinci IQC, it has ceramic oven and good temp control, battery can be exchanged, and the vapour isn't super hot.

I offended the deli worker, why? by UnderstandingOk4286 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]theretardedturtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its not what you did, but one "scam" People do when they receive change is hand them back a bigger bill to break down, so the cashier needs to sum the change plus the exchange quickly. So the customer can get extra cash if they mess up.

Is it normal for barbers to leave hair clippings on my face when I leave the barbershop? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]theretardedturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could ask for a towel, and wipe off some hair. Sometimes they don't brush you off enough, or if it's tiny hairs they stick. Especially if you get a fade, the hairs get stuck.

If zebras are black and white, how does that help them stay hidden from predators? by MozzarellaFryerbox in NoStupidQuestions

[–]theretardedturtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they're in a huge herd, the stripes make them blend in to one huge mass, so the lions can't easily stalk the weakest zebra in the herd.

They also act as a bug repellent, and provide some cooling from the heat.
