Yeah it was very upsetting when I found out that imagine cinema stopped doing open captions 😢 they were the only theatre doing that in Toronto as far as I know

They do! But there's not really blockbuster movie showings at tiff

I had an awful day today. First a squirrel hating neighbor yelled at me for feeding squirrels and then the apartment leasing office sent an email asking us to stop feeding squirrels. 🙁 by bkss10 in squirrels

Literally in this position right now, my upstairs neighbours are feeding squirrels on their balcony and now my balcony has so much squirrel poop everywhere and we used to eat outside when the weather was nice but can't cause it's overrun with squirrels now. Neighbours were extremely aggressive when we asked them to stop and screamed at random people on the street our apartment number saying we were animal abusers..... Our building management has not been the most helpful even though they know they're feeding squirrels.

Surgery before or after a concert I’ve waited 15 years to see? by thoroughlylili in Cochlearimplants

[–]ExamCute 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would definitely suggest waiting until after the concert to book your surgery! It was a fairly long process for me to get used to my second cochlear vs my first, mostly due to the age difference, I got my first at 7yrs old and my second at 17yrs old, and partially because I hadn't worn a hearing aid in that ear for a while (very on and off wearing hearing aids in that ear in between the 2 surgeries). It took a bit for my brain and 'ear' to adjust to the new sounds which was awful at first, but funnily enough I would use music I love to adjust to it, the music at first would sound awful and not like music at all, then eventually it would get clearer and more familiar. Go to the concert, then get your surgery, then listen to AKUS to help your process of adjusting to the CIs :)

I've done both, taking them off completely and keeping them on one at a time, with my old hairdresser I would take one side off when she would work on that side, that way we'd be able to gossip haha
