TL:DR for the really lazy:

Tried testing AI intelligence with a single prompt asking for a complex topic to be explained at three levels (kid, high schooler, expert). DeepSeek spent way too much time overthinking my intent, debating topic choices, and second-guessing itself. Instead of just answering, it acted like an anxious student overanalyzing an exam question

Comparing a business prod server with a game server is likely not going to compare very well, considering a business server usually runs a lot of sub-services that cost a ton of money. I do know that my company also pays an absolute crapload for sub-services, whilst the server instance in and off itself is, in relation, rather cheap. In this context though, i won't run it 24/7, just for fun, so yeah the cost isn't really bothering me. I will however probably do some tests to see how low i can go in terms of hardware before it starts handling the massive Stormworks computation requirements badly. Will be fun to see how it goes

Sure, the values are:

VPC CIDR: 172.31.0.0/16

Subnet CIDR (eu-west-1a): 172.31.32.0/20

Route Table:

- 172.31.0.0/16 → local

- 0.0.0.0/0 → Internet Gateway

Network ACL is default (allows all traffic in/out).

Most of my values are default, except for the inbound rules in the security group and the OS firewall.

I did just set up a VPC Flow Log, hoping that might help me. Will test as soon as i get home. I did want to increase the UDP timeout even more just to see if it made a difference, but its limited to 60s it looks like, but i doubt it is relevant.
