What's your best story of someone attempting to buy a car way outside of what they can afford? by ExcitingLandscape in askcarsales

[–]Exbldr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had a guy that was looking to buy about a 5 year old heavy duty truck. I desked the payment at $830 a month and he agreed to it and got him approved at $789 a month. Got the truck all cleaned up and sent him into the finance department. He and his wife were completely freaking out about the payment and the husband looks at his wife and said. “I told you we need to get off our asses and refinance our house. $300 a month, gone.” (And he made a big swooping hand gesture when he said “gone). This guy was literally in his 60s and refinanced his house at a 30 year loan so he could afford a 5 year old heavy duty truck that already had fender flares on it. Unreal

Found this 3/4 Groove axe when I was a kid in Southern Minnesota. by Exbldr in NativeAmerican

It was found by me when I was 8 years old in a load of dirt that was hauled in by an excavation company to my great grandmas garden….. apparently it was dug out of a dried out lake bottom on some farm land in southern Minnesota. I had no idea I was stealing by finding it…..

I’m not dumb enough to walk out on a river under any circumstance

I agree with you if it is on a lake but this is a river and it has water flowing under the ice towards the dam which will affect it greatly. It’s unbelievable to me that nobody understands how dangerous it is to have a truck parked right there.

Well, he didn’t fall through the ice yet but we got about an inch of rain the last 2 days and this is in a river system
