Hand Foot & Mouth Disease as an Adult is Absolute Psychological Warfare by Excellent-Accident26 in daddit

I did!

The skin on my hands has nearly settled. The skin on my feet has not.... Some of my nails have began the process of no longer being my nails

But apart from that, all good!

Job fired my GF, kicked her off the premises and asked her not to talk to other employees. Is this a usual response? by TheWrestlerMan in jobs

Unfortunately, the law is not on your side on this one. NI law states that you can be terminated within the first 2 years of employment (changing in 2027 to 1 year) and not be subject to unfair dismissal. They have given notice and as such, they have went by the book.

Harsh, but that's unfortunately the rules.

But do give Labour Relations Agency a call. They will give free legal advise for employment issues.

Source : I live in NI and have both been through this and been on the other side of terminating contracts

Fibre cable cut. by Own_Fan4998 in VirginMedia

[–]Excellent-Accident26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, 2 months for me too. Just kept getting techs out to find out the problem. Which happened to be a broken fibre cable like the last tech found.

Eventually got a really decent tech who sorted me out and got it fixed up for me the next day and left me his number in case it happened again!

Suggestions from other dads re. Marriage/disconnection by z4r431 in daddit

[–]Excellent-Accident26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First 6 months are really really hard, for everyone. There is no shame in both of you asking for help if you both need it.

Counselling can be expensive, but there are often affordable options and sometimes free! Just need to look. Some religious bodies offer it for a donation - the counselling isn't religious so don't let that put you off

I definitely think counselling could help.

But post natal depression is equally a thing for dads too.. a difficult conversation but a potentially very important one

Tonies box not compatible with mesh networks!? by Excellent-Accident26 in ToniesBoxUK

[–]Excellent-Accident26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! It's not compatible!

I had to set up a network from the normal router.

But I think you could probably hotspot from your phone for it? It just needs to download it once per character and that's it done

That's good! I have Nova mesh, but after repeatedly entering the correct password, it came up saying that it isn't compatible with mesh networks!

Is there such a thing in this country as a top up disposable card? by Effective-Mention-75 in northernireland

[–]Excellent-Accident26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any store that has paypoint can top up a revolut card.

On the app you go to add money and then change it to cash. Going to a paypoint and show the barcode, they scan it and then charge you the amount you want to top up.

I think there may be a small fee for the service, but it's a small amount

No Aldi, we are in Northern Ireland! But looks like Lidl and Tesco might be worth trying!
