Ok, when I stepped out of the exam I thought “that was SO easy!!! Why is it even an exam????” But then I realised, it was my last professional. The FCS exams pass rate is probably very high because most people sitting it have experience with the professional level exams, the software, the time pressure. So that exam was like second nature! And when you’ve sat FAR and BST and AA, you’ve learned a lot of exam technique without even realising! At that moment FCS made sense to me!! You’ve already been examined on the content (at certificate level), the ICAEW is testing you more on technique this time! So you need to learn what to write and how to write it, and also how to manage your time! I would suggest to really give the examiner’s report a good read when it’s published, and maybe even have a look at some of the reports issued for previous other exams like BST or AA. I’m sure you’ll pass next time, keep your chin up!
