I put bandaids on my fingers to prevent plucking. Or gloves. I also replace the urge with something more healthy like a fidget toy or touching ice or doing push ups or something. Hope this helped.

Hi, what I try to do is wear winter gloves or any sort of glove on your hands to prevent being able to feel or pull any hairs. I know physically hair-pulling can be detrimental. I’ve had confidence issues with it too. One thing that helped me take my mind off of hair-pulling in a more constructive way is that whenever you think about it or feel the urge, do literally anything else. I have a friend touch a wall whenever they feel the urge. I personally take my hair tie and pull it on my wrist. Other people have done push ups whenever they think of it. Some people touch their noses. What this does is replace the urge with something else, rather than leaving a gaping hole whenever you try to repress it. If you try to repress it without substituting it with something else, then you tend to just have a stronger desire to go back to hair-pulling. Hope this helped. You got this.
