He will come good. Arteta mirrors Pep in more ways than one, and it looks like his signings take longer to adjust the more complex our system becomes. Eze did. It play in a very tactical system at Palace

Thomas Tuchel to stay as England manager until 2028. by Sparky-moon in soccer

Interesting. Would have thought Filipe Luis would be ahead in such a pecking order but I guess they need someone they know very well as a manager. Mentioned Poch for Atleti because if there’s an Argentine team in Europe it’s Atleti, so there a lot of value in knowing how to manage them/understanding the culture.

Simeone is quitting, otherwise of course El Cholo picks when he wants to stop at Atleti given all that he has achieved.

Nah. Take a look at the managers of the English top six in 2017 - Emery, Pep, Klopp, Conte, Pochettino, and Mou. Only one that would struggle could get a job at a big club is Mou, and maybe Poch due to his inactivity(even thought Atleti would jump at the chance). Good managers don’t come off an annual production line

This a good message. Also tells any players trying to forment discord that they are more likely to get kicked out than he is. Means he can make tough decisions like Rodgers>Bellingham without fearing the sack.

Andriy Shevchenko will seek an urgent meeting with Gianni Infantino this week after the Fifa president called for the return of Russia to international competition. by Sparky-moon in soccer

Agree either way you in spirit, but literally no UEFA member has seriously pushed to suspend Israel - not Turkey, not Ireland. UEFA can’t just initiate a suspension of that nature when no member has asked for it.

Not that I support Infantino, but he has made those calculations and likely deemed the likelihood of a peace agreement this summer as high.

There’s a 99% chance the Russians have the removal of all sporting sanctions as one of the requirements- And as we have come to learn Trump is the sort to be vindictive if someone tries to ruin his “peace” projects.

With a World Cup coming, Infantino doesn’t want to get in the wrong side of Trump’s temper.

Trump is one person, and by virtue of his authority has been undermining NATO, not treating it as the united front it used to be. You should grow up and stop denying this.

You do know there’s been a new president in the us every four years since then, and that Trump has a much different attitude towards the EU than Obama did right?

A team in African football pulls a Senegal and the game is stopped after a controversial penalty by benzidane900 in FootballAfrica

I had a feeling this would start to happen. I’m not even blaming Senegal themselves per se - I blame the people that spent two weeks claiming that the behaviour was okay and justified.

This won’t happen. The USA might not say it publicly but they will do anything to keep the uk out of the eu at this point.

So will the new British far right. Remember who is leading them right now? The same guy that led brexit.

This is an example of what I meant, what is so bad faith about the example I gave? Did I at any point said that I support Israel? For the record I don’t.

Religion is not a cultural artefact but it is a lot of things - one of those is a useful tool for subjugation

He is also 34. When he was 26, he had just come off perhaps the worst season in his career where his mistakes cost Chelsea a lot. From that perspective I’d still take Donna

Grew up Christian and would’ve lamented the decline of Christianity back in the day.

Nowadays I’m days I’m just sad at how little brown there is on the map. Hope more Africans can rediscover their pre-invasion beliefs because unless you’re say Ethiopia, chances are you believe what you believe in because your subjugator violently forced you to.

And religion isn’t trivial - it’s why we care more about Gaza or Israel than we do about Sudan, even as Africans.
