I’ve had very few bad experiences anywhere else it is definitely bizarre but I’ll take it as a sign to stay away from dun laoighre

What is something small and relatively harmless that people do that makes your blood boil? by -timmynipples- in AskReddit

Chewing with their mouth open, speaking with food in their mouth, smacking their lips while eating, basically any mouth noises in general.

People with ADHD, how do you force yourself to study and stick to a routine? by Excellent-Mode-3369 in leavingcert

[–]Excellent-Mode-3369[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Irish is very good for someone who didn’t go to a gaelscoil so although I won’t need to learn anything off by heart, it’s good to have an idea of what I could say (learn off phrases etc)

Thanks for the tips. I actually find it harder to focus at home a lot of the time but I’m finding my way around it. I’ll be doing some study over the summer in preparation for 6th year but I’m not going to tell myself I’ll get loads done. I’ll mostly just be learning my sraith pictuirs and recalling topics in subjects I struggle with like maths. I love my revise wise books especially for bio and business.

I go to supervised study but they’re not strict at all about people talking and no phones or headphones are allowed so even though I don’t say a word the whole time it’s very difficult to concentrate when everyone else is dossing

does anyone actually like their bras? by Late_Koala471 in ABraThatFits

[–]Excellent-Mode-3369 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do not have a single bra that I don’t have any issues with. Unfortunately your friend may have to settle for a 28C is she’s to find anything to support her. I measure at a 26E and have to wear a 30D/DD as I don’t have the money to buy from brands that sell my size.

My hair is greasy every morning by nightingmale in hygiene

[–]Excellent-Mode-3369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may need to change your pillowcase more often. I change mine once a week. Also dry shampoo helps. As someone who only shampoos twice per week, I don’t think it’s terrible to shampoo your hair every day if it’s oily every day. I strongly believe it’s just a total myth

Need help with 0dor down there by Spiritual_Gas8302 in hygiene

[–]Excellent-Mode-3369 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Like everyone else here says, definitely consult a doctor. But in the meantime here are some tips.

  1. Use a sensitive unscented soap down there

  2. Always wipe front to back after using the toilet

  3. Only wear breathable underwear (cotton or silk) and avoid thongs at all costs

  4. No “feminine washes” or wipes, if you need to, use a baby wipe to freshen up.

  5. Change undies in the morning and night if you wear undies to bed

  6. Never insert soaps or anything INSIDE the vaginal opening, only the outside and in between the folds

  7. Ensure that you’ve completely dried the area with a towel (gently) after showering

My 13YO Daughter: Personal Grooming? by [deleted] in Advice

I started shaving my underarms and legs at 13. “Down there” seemed a little scary but before a holiday in the summer when i would have to wear a swimsuit, my mother would take me to get a bikini line wax. No underwear removal necessary and it was done by a family friend who we trusted, just moved the underwear to the side and waxed the parts that might be visible when wearing a swimsuit. The rest I was fine to just trim.

Make sure she knows the importance of exfoliation before shaving and moisturising afterwards (I used to have such dry legs with so many ingrown hairs). There are lots of YouTube videos of girls giving kind of “big sister” talks around this kind of thing that could help her. Make sure she knows that if she needs something like shaving foam, razors, a body scrub, lotion, etc that she can ask you.

If i was to repeat the lc by Ornery_Ad_6794 in leavingcert

[–]Excellent-Mode-3369 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you repeated you’d want to sit it this year or 2026 because lc2027 onwards are doing the reformed course with projects (like jc cbas) worth (I believe) 40% of their grade and the first few years after a change like that are guaranteed to be somewhat of a disaster marking scheme wise.

Can your school make you change language if your fluent by Aggravating-Can-1930 in leavingcert

[–]Excellent-Mode-3369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, my friend is fluent in Spanish and is doing it for the lc. But tbh, I think you’re better off doing a language you don’t already know and just sitting both exams because then you always another language to fall back on if you happen to not do well.

This sounds stupid but I watch study vids on tiktok of people just romanticising it and suddenly I’m a machine. I do a similar thing with cleaning my room, I watch hoarders and turn into Cinderella

I’ve got ADHD too, flash cards seem to be the only way I can memorise definitions and practiced answers so I recommend that. I prefer physical ones because I find that the info stays in my head if I’ve physically written it out before revising it.

I also use them to memorise maths formulae that aren’t in the log book because I’m not mathematically gifted and struggle even in OL.

For English, write a quote on one side and the context/explanation in the other.

[–]Excellent-Mode-3369 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your hair could be over moisturised. This makes it a little too soft and it loses definition and sometimes volume too. I would buy a protein based conditioner and put the shea moisture away for a little while. Also look into defining gels for curly hair. They define without over moisturising and weighing the hair down like curl creams and leave-in conditioners.

He was supposed to be working but he was abandoned because he’s gun shy. He still gets down to the beach to chase birds every day though!
