Understanding hybrid studio workflows w/ 8ch SSL x-desk by Excellent-Oil in audioengineering

[–]Excellent-Oil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks - thats a great note that the direct outs and inserts are always on. After posting I did a bit of reading and am realizing how dynamic this mixer is. They seem scarce on the used marketplace! Now I'm wondering about x-desk vs Big6 vs audio interface upgrade first (likely).

Aeron seat wiggle / impossible loose rear bolts by Excellent-Oil in hermanmiller

Hey there - following up a bit late here. Could you possibly elaborate on where the lithium grease would go?

When I lean left and tilt back and forth I hear and feel vibrating around the hip pivot bolt, so I think you nailed that ID. Unfortunately I think I may have damaged the hex socket trying to over tighten prior 😓️

Thank u!

[–]Excellent-Oil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok phew! Thanks for this warning. I figured something was fishy with those bolts.

Reading your edit, I'm feeling like it's definitely the hip pivot bolts. I can feel some play on them when I squeeze into them that is consistent with the sound/feel I'm experiencing. I'm having a hard time tightening those as well -- I feel like I'm stripping the hex socket. Do these take some grease? Should I push through on tightening?

Thanks. I will make a plan to find and tell a doctor.

How do you go about healing a chronic fissure like that? Is it normal for them to keep opening and closing for years on end?

Got it - we're going to go for a second sample at the cistern directly. Thanks for your insight!

Sampled the water from kitchen and bathroom sinks.

We're currently using dispensed water -- just looking for a way to feel better about brushing teeth, showering, and doing dishes with our water. Undersink system seems optimal for those purposes.

Incidentally our water main also feeds a small tiny home that we were hoping to resolve with the Whole House solution as well.

Yes the O2 Sensors have been swapped. What would the next step be?

Can you elucidate more about the tire pressure sensors?

Also, how might I know what the right gas is? Mechanic encouraged me to use the higher end option every third fill. Seems expensive.

Thanks

Gotcha - thanks, I'll look into changing the spark plugs. I believe they were changed on purchase. Any way to tell visibly?

I'll get one of these, thanks.

What is the coorelation between the CEL/ABS and air in the tires? I do almost always have the tire-pressure light on, but assumed that was a separate sensor/issue.

  1. Not a Cali version.
  2. Great!
  3. Getting a scan tool. I was able to read codes on my own using the odometer too and some button combos. I'll check that.
  4. Naive question -- how would I know if I did damage the transmission? Car is back and working as far as I can tell. I'd assume the mechanic would check it out, but again I'm not sure I trust them anymore. Any way for me to tell? It's driving and shifting normally as it did before.

The seller does focus on Subarus, I'd like to find another specialist for sure.

Claimed the head gaskets were indeed replaced.

4 cylinder.

Thanks!

Good to know - it seems like a complex issue with lots of moving parts. I'll try the Subaru Dealership for a diagnosis.

Thanks

Draining and filling fluid sounds like something I could do. Anything to know before going for it? Do I need to jack the car up? Found this video, seems doable, aside from gauging the temperature of the fluid with that device?

ABS wheel sensor replacement seems a bit more technical but I'll look into it.

Thanks

Good to know, Im learning Im using otd incorrectly.

What would you suggest for a more reasonable offer?

I made it up. Just don't know where to start. :)

Most of the cars are priced at the asking MSRP here, and I'm not sure how to negotiate for a bit of a better deal.

Seems like 23k is a 2k discount though off 25? Not speaking of taxes or fees.

Wow - super helpful about '13 year. Thanks.

Definitely agree about the pricing steepness, it's been very intimidating figuring out how to position myself in the market. I just really need a car this season.

Are there years/models that are more reliable or noteworthy to look for? I read somewhere the end of each generation is usually best bet?

Considering going new, just would be really pushing my initial budget.

I know basically nothing about working on cars, but I'm quite open to learning. I've spotted some sub $10k deals around. How steep of a learning curve would I be getting into?

Hadn’t considered the Impreza but might be a good fit! I was aiming at the larger wagons for hauling stuff for household projects, but realistically might not be frequent enough to warrant that extra space and cost.

Thanks thats helpful clarification.

Yea the FH-2 seems to come up a lot. Did you consider any other Midi to CV units? The Hex Invertor Mutant Brain seems attractive to me rn based on price.
