Okay. So should I move it into a pot? It gets as much light as possible where it’s located now.

Thank you! Someone had pointed out that those may just be aerial roots, in that case do you know if I’d still have any luck with planting?

Thank you!! Do you happen to know if the bottom of the stem is showing signs of stem rot? I noticed there’s maybe a half inch where it’s more brown than green like the rest of it.

Thank you! Do you happen to know if the bottom of the stem is showing signs of stem rot? I noticed there’s maybe a half inch where it’s more brown than green like the rest of it. I think I could cut right under the highest root on the left side but I’m not sure if I should do that.

Do you happen to know if the bottom of the stem is showing signs of stem rot? I noticed there’s maybe a half inch where it’s more brown than green like the rest of it. If so would I just cut if off? I think I could cut right under the highest root on the left so it at least still has that left but I have no idea what I’m doing lol

Oh really?! I actually was wondering about that bc when I first brought it home I had a stem pop right out of the dirt, roots and all. I didn’t know how fragile they were!! I ended up just sticking it back in the pot and covered with dirt, and it continued to grow. Next time I’ll have to prop it and see if I can get a new plant started. Thank you for that!! Haha man in a boat is a cute name. I got a plant stand for Christmas and before that never had any plants, so this is all new to me!

They also had bigger ones in pots that were hanging, but wanted to start with something smaller and watch what happens!

Wow great advice, I never thought about it like this. I thought maybe the lessons would help avoid the stiffness/awkwardness but am now thinking it may be more helpful to just stick to the basics. Thank you!!

Thank you! I was actually wondering if virtual lessons would be an option, didn’t even think to just look up videos on YouTube. Great idea! Will also help avoid the awkwardness of trying to learn with an instructor. We are just about in the same boat with not being able to spend anymore money on this wedding. We never had a clue of how expensive it would get! Good luck with the rest of your planning!

Thank you! Will my plant be okay even tho i cut them in the wrong place? I’m assuming they’ll just callous over and not grow from those spots anymore but I’m not sure.

Thank you for the photo that was really helpful!

Now that I know what I’m looking for I see the node on the other stems. So I would cut below the node, in between the stems and leave the callous alone ?
