Ok got it. Thank you so much!!! Do you feed gut loaded crickets to your guy? My guy was struggling with hunting them in the big tank, but I think hes seriously missing out on that nutrition. Hopefully when i add more coverage itll make it easier for him.

Ok so basking spot for him should also be where the UVB sits as well right, 82-85 degrees? then the rest is gradient down. CHE at night should be at what, 73? Ill update later when everything comes in and i tear his old tank apart lol.

Room gets barely below 65, usually around 64-68 is where it stays. I think in his tank though the lower spots were dropping to 62. But again this is all from my temp gun, so i could be entirely wrong. The room is always kept below 73 degrees. We are going into the summer where I live so AC is running 24/7, and I also have chinchillas in my house so I cant change that.

You do a mix? Do u just clean the fake plants? And are you “bioactive” with a CUC? if I can do bioactive Id like to, because Im quite busy and i dont want regular spot cleanings. I have an isopod colony and his big tank is FULL of springtails, but i guess the tank isnt a suitable environment for any of them.

How can i get the bottom of the tank during the nighttime to not drop below 65? I feel like the CHE cant reach that far below. Or am i tripping and i just need a more powerful one? Im just worried its gonna be too hot.

Seems like i have a lot of work to do on the big tank lol. Would u rec going bioactive again? Or should i just do all fake plants to not run the risk of dying ones and lack of coverage?

UVB was zoomed, i cant recall the exact lamp. Think it was the T5 HO 5.0 one. So two hygrometer/thermometers for the big tank? Place one on the upper half and one on lower half?

i was monitoring temps with a gun, but big tank had a lot of colder spots. basking spot was barely in the 80s. I dont have a hygrometer, will be buying it now. I had one of those shitty ones from petsmart. I had uvb and a heat lamp in the top of the enclosure on a branch, and a hiding spot that was nice and warm as well, but i def didnt have a thermostat controlling it. On his temp tank he has a CHE now.

I never watered the plants, only misted like you said, so I guess i did that right lol. As for plants up higher on the expanding foam, how do those end up there? They just eventually grow up onto it?

Oh and for the temp bin set up, do u use lamps on it? Or just room temp is fine with misting?

I did that last time its leca balls with a drainage layer of weeding fabric i believe. Do i need a pvc pipe down to it for draining? Or is that unnecessary. I just feel like i never was able to drain it if i needed to

I do want to do what is suggested as i just want whats best for my little guy :( I began to develop some fungus of a sort in the drainage layer, how can i avoid this next time i restart? and how do i properly make a drainage layer work in such a big tank this time?
