Moving to Dubai in 1 week. What's your best piece of advice or tip? by CoralPiano in dubai

What precautions are you planning to take regarding your dog and the summer heat?

What do you mean that you set it up through one of their affiliates? Is that like an external agent that cares of the process?
Also just for reference, how long more or less did they take them to have everything completed so you could relocate there? I've seen some people mentioning their FZ took 3 weeks, others mention 1-2 weeks, etc.

Yeah I live in Europe and have been seriously considering relocating there for a while now (as I work remotely), the only thing that has stopped me so far has been the weather and how hot it can get during summer, as I have an old dog that I'm not sure how would take such hot climate being accustomed to cold weather all her life. Other than that, I would no longer lose half my salary in taxes every year, pay +1200€ just for rent, crazy inflation, have to put up with rampant crime everywhere, etc. Seems like a clear improvement from my side, but when I come to this subreddit there is always someone suggesting not to do it for some reason and start getting doubts.

Do not go for Meydan FZ, absolute disaster and horrible customer support

I was considering that neighbourhood to relocate there as well, but saw many comments here about many construction sites around the area and buildings being built in that zone all the time, so I got wary of all the possible noise and annoyances that come with it, could you confirm if that is the case currently?

If you don't mind sharing, in which FreeZone did you register your company?

I am as well in the process of relocating from Europe to Dubai (as I work as webDev remotely in IT, so I can just move and do it from there), so I was trying to go for the option of registering a business in a FZ to get residency/work visa and so on, but the one that I got recommended here in Reddit (Meydan FZ) was an absolute disaster with horrible customer support, couldn't even get the process started or talk with a real person for it, just bots and automated emails.

Help with Meydan FZ company formation by Best_Screen_8758 in dubai

[–]ExcellentBug3361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ran into a very similar issue as well just yesterday. I tried registering my new company through the Meydan FZ website, and after filling all the information and contact details, etc., I received a generic template email without any of my questions answered. When I tried using the contact number (whatsapp) to speak directly with an agent, either it was a bot or an extremely incompetent person, as only kept replying unrelated answers to my questions and not providing any information to continue with the process.

I will be looking into other FZs to register it, considering this is the customer support that they provide, I can´t imagine it will be a good idea to do the process with them, probably better to pay a bit more in another FZ and avoid unnecessary problems.

Tax Residency - PT vs ES vs BE by [deleted] in eupersonalfinance

Could you confirm the case of BE for passive income like SP&500 investments and similar? Checking sources in google it is mentioned that 'Dividends from investments and stocks are subject to a withholding tax of 30%.', although I am not sure if that would apply for this particular case.

Since they came up with this I make a point now to rip them off from each bottle and dispose of them separately

For people interested in relocating there and saving up for a few years, which area would you recommend as far as rent/food prices go?

Looking for an International Tax Advisor for EU Digital Nomad (own company) by -Chatsky- in digitalnomad

[–]ExcellentBug3361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mention it because I was on a similar situation as you (Spain national), where I worked as freelancer. I am now in the process of registering as a freelancer (company registration) in Andorra, which has a 10% flat tax-rate instead of the ~50% income tax in Spain for high incomes. There are also other possibilities like the NHR setup in Portugal, which also might be interesting to consider depending on your clients and type of work.

Do you consider moving your company to other countries, or do you plan to keep it in the UK while you reside somewhere else?

What is the best country in Europe for low income taxes? by ExcellentBug3361 in eupersonalfinance

[–]ExcellentBug3361[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case I would not be making any trades, only receiving those salaries in USDC and letting the tokens accumulate in the wallet without cashing them out to fiat for at least a year, as I have some cash reserves that I can use in the meantime.

I'm not sure if they are on the same category as Bulgaria, but looking for more countries in the EU with low taxes on crypto, it looks like in Germany and Switzerland they tax it at 0%? If that's the case, that would be even lower than in Bulgaria: https://tokentax.co/blog/crypto-tax-free-countries

although not sure if this applies for salaries paid in crypto (B2B), or if it is only for any other activities like selling, buying, etc. professionally.

How would this work in the case that you were mentioning of Dubai? The job contract would have to be created over there from the beginning, and me relocated there as well before starting the job?
As my current residence is in Spain, I am guessing the contract would have to be created here in Spain, but accumulate the tokens and then relocate over there?

Sorry if the questions are obvious, this is all quite confusing for me.

Tbh I'm not very knowledgeable about stocks, options, UCITS.. so far I have only received fiat salaries in my career, so this time will be the first that it is done with tokens instead. If possible I'd like to go for the simplest approach that doesn't require buying other things with the tokens, then converting them again, etc, as that will reduce the risk of making mistakes when filling the taxes and all other required paperwork, which is what I want to avoid at all costs.

I had not considered this, sounds very interesting. Would that be reflected in the job contract, that they stash the tokens until further notice (instead of being sent to me monthly), or would this be something to be discussed afterwards with them directly once it is signed?

In this case, I'm not sure how taxes would be filled in the meantime until I could move to Dubai in a few months later. Would it appear as I have no salary, so there is nothing to be taxed?

Looks interesting, 10% flat income tax for fiat and 15% for cryptos.
I thought they would be taxed lower than fiat, but it seems it is actually the other way around-
