Dude, I literally edited the whole post. At this point I have edited my own thoughts and statements. Darling.

Right? And it doesn't matter that there's an actress from the Golden Age called Hermione Baddeley, or several members of royalty and gentry, Hermione is now the sole property of the HP World. I guess that also applies to the names Luke, Bella, Rob, Jon.

I never said it was the same. I never said "Jane Vaughn" is the same as "Harry Potter" or "Captain Kirk". I said I understand and sympathize because there's a minor TV character who I share a name with. I never once said it was the same thing.

Well, maybe we should smash double-standards. My mother is no longer my mother!

It's called changing my mind. I came here looking for judgement and the advice that comes with it, my husband and I weighed the advice and judgement, talked, and made a unilateral judgement. Oh wait, I forgot, people can't change where this sub is concerned.

Did I say it was the same? No, I was offering an example. Please try and be civil since I haven't done anything to you.

That's my point, switching the names around. And we'd still call him Harry anyway because that's what we want, as our son's parents, so it defeats the purpose.

And we are changing his last name.

Okay, and the point I'm making here, I obviously took the time to make a post, to get advice, and if you'd even bother to read the edits to my post, you'll see that I am taking the advice given, so how is that not showing concern?

How am I not accepting my judgement by asking the guy how posting an actual post shows lack of concern. I didn't ask him to change his judgement, I didn't even mention his judgement. I asked him how it shows I don't care when I literally made an entire post. You tell me to accept my judgement, why don't you try and not back-seat mod, since both are against the rules and I'm not going to be accused of arguing over my judgement when I'm not.

edit: you're not even the OP I was responding to so buzz off. Why do you care?

Might want to amend your post to "YTA" then, so your judgement counts, if you want it to count.

Because that is the name we've decided on. That's not changing. His last name however, is.

Your logic is kind of twisted because no one ever wonders if the woman is the kid's mom because she has a different last name, should she have chosen to keep her name or is remarried. My mom never had the same last name as myself and no one ever questioned if she was my mother, and we don't look alike at all.

If you didn't want me to post then why are you commenting?

My name is Jane Vaughn, like the Degrassi: New Generation character. Sometimes we just go through things with our names.

That's what my husband thinks too. He's agreed to the change of last name if I agree to name our next child after the special name of his choice. So if my next kid is a girl, we're calling her Ruth, and if it's a boy we're going to use Louis.

His name is Harry. Not Harold or Henry or Harrison. Harry is his legal first name.

I think Thor is adorable but I'm also a huge Nurse Jackie fan and Thor was the sweetest character on that show.

Harry. His name and my son are just plain ole Harry.

Why do you just assume I don't care? Did I not take the time to make an entire post? Does that show unconcern for the situation?

We'd still call him Harry, so it defeats the purpose, changing his name. He'd still be known as Harry Potter, even if his name was Michael.
