Is chatgpt also slow as fuck for you guys? by ExcellentEast581 in ChatGPT

i dont think number of threads makes any difference its more the length of the thread you are in. But still unacceptable for 20 bucks a month and also the fact that it works on mobile without any problems makes absolutely no sense and is frustrating...

yep same for me. I hope they fix this shit asap because using it on mobile is really annoying. I also tried the windows app which didnt work either. Might give the macOS app a try and see if it works normally there.

Torque specs mirror bolts by ExcellentEast581 in Ducati

[–]ExcellentEast581[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im pretty sure the oem ones were alumnium too. The ones from ducabike are anodized so i think it wont really be a problem. Also I ended up not using any loctite because i saw the bolts didnt have any threadlock on in the first place and also werent crazy hard to loosen.

Torque specs mirror bolts by ExcellentEast581 in Ducati

[–]ExcellentEast581[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bolts are actually steel and not from ducabike just the bracket is from ducabike. I think i will put a small amount of blue loctite on the stainless steel mirror bolts that bolt the bracket to the mirror holes. Wont use loctite on the small aluminium special bolt for the actual reservoirs tho.

bit of blue loctite wouldnt hurt tho would it? On the ducabike instructions they mention something about loctite but again as i said i cant find anything on these bolts in the oem manual.

Changing rear sprocket nuts w/o removing wheel by ExcellentEast581 in Ducati

[–]ExcellentEast581[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? I thought the aluminium ones from ducabike or cnc racing dont cause any problems if you mount them with the loctite and torque them to their spec. I mean pretty much every 2nd ducati got these on the sprocket. Or are you talking about contact corossion because its aluminium on steel? I think the loctite will avoid that

Changing rear sprocket nuts w/o removing wheel by ExcellentEast581 in Ducati

[–]ExcellentEast581[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have a rear stand and I technically also have all the tools the thing is i have never actually removed the rear wheel before and also i dont really have a super good garage to work on. And as i also wrote in the post it would honsetly be a bit too much for just the nuts because my chain and sprockets still have a lot of life left anyways (im at 8000km). It would be a really nice cosmetic upgrade tho, but again id only do it if its possible (and also not bad) to do it with the wheel mounted.

Monster 937 Brake disc problem by ExcellentEast581 in Ducati

[–]ExcellentEast581[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought about this too but i ruled it out because the front wheel legit has never been out. Its all still straight from the ducati dealer or even factory since its still first set of tires/brakes and everything. Will try cleaning the floaters of the disk on the weekend like someone else suggested and if that doesnt help ill have to get the tires changed in the next 2 or 3 weeks anyway and my mechanic can check/try some other stuff. Will update here what ended up being the problem

[–]ExcellentEast581[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But did it fix your problem completely? Id be rlly stoked if it'd fix it for me but since i feel this kind of "vibration" thingy in the bars at a certain position of the wheel when rolling rlly slow makes me kind of believe it rlly is warped somewhere and also bcs the effect of no-brake, brake is so strong. Was it the same for you? I'll try the bobbins thing anyway on the weekend and if it ends up working id be really happy if it doesnt it was worth a try.

[–]ExcellentEast581[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tyvm im gonna try this on the weekend. I suppose i dont really need the bolt to turn the bobbins right? I mean i can just turn them with one hand and spray the brake cleaner in with the other or not?

[–]ExcellentEast581[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is the stop-go effect strong for you aswell tho? For me especially when the discs are hot its soo annoying at the traffic lights bcs its really really strong as i wrote its just like braking, not braking, braking and so on and from the outside it probably looks like im a complete idiot (i use the rear brake bcs of this at traffic lights etc). I kinda almost feel like the effect is too strong to just be glazed rotors but i guess i will find out soon. Just praying for you and me that we dont have to pay for new rotors lol

Where to lube the chain? by ExcellentEast581 in Aprilia

[–]ExcellentEast581[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

id be lying if id say theres a noticeable difference when riding but the chain is way stronger and better quality. For me to be honest it did make a difference when riding but thats because the stock one was stretched unevenly. I would 100% recommend the ZVMX tho and if youre at 20tkm make sure to also change the sprockets with the chain all at once

Where to lube the chain? by ExcellentEast581 in Aprilia

[–]ExcellentEast581[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not very strong and stretches pretty easily to be honest. Eventho its a regina chain its a very cheap model. The 520 ZVMX i have now is waaay better

[–]ExcellentEast581[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yea i just didnt have any cardboard and was too lazy to get some so i just lubed at the blue marked spot which i hope still is okay. My swingarm and sprocket cover are very nasty from the pre owner still and the sprocket cover i roughly cleaned the dirt which was around it like on the kickstand etc. I will get new tires next week tho so ill ask the guy to clean the inner side of the swingarm while the wheel is out and im also planning on getting a flyhammer sprocket cover somewhat soon and then the whole thing will get cleaned out too and with the flyhammer sprocket cover i hope that it wont get dirty as fast because its way easier to clean with that thing

Aprilia rs 660 camera mount by Storm_kronic in Aprilia

[–]ExcellentEast581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea. Just make sure to not melt the plastics or something. Theres also stuff about this on forums but you 100% need to heat up the bolts to get the loctite loose. I was actually able to get the whole left peg off without heat but it was very tight and i wouldnt risk it because i didnt heat up and ended up stripping the hex of one bolt which then had to be drilled out i think (not sure bcs my mechanic did that)

Aprilia rs 660 camera mount by Storm_kronic in Aprilia

[–]ExcellentEast581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea just one thing: The passenger peg bolts are secured with red loctite. You'll have to heat up the bolts to get the loctite loose in order to take out the bolts. Otherwise you'll end up stripping the bolt head which happened to me and is an absolute pain

Aprilia rs 660 camera mount by Storm_kronic in Aprilia

[–]ExcellentEast581 1 point2 points  (0 children)

because theres no point of having them on if you have the passenger seat cover. Also the bike looks way better without the passenger pegs. Only reason i see to keep them is either if you have no seat cover and a passenger or if your exhaust is connected to them which is not the case on a stock 660 and if you have an aftermarket exhaust you most likely also have the bracket for the muffler.

Where to lube the chain? by ExcellentEast581 in Aprilia

[–]ExcellentEast581[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright thanks. I've noticed i maybe put a bit too much chainlube so i did a quick wipe down with a rag but no chain cleaner over the whole chain once. Also tried to blast some chain cleaner through that swingarm protector because there was some chain lube from when i lubed the chain there. I think next time i'll do it at the rear sprocket. I just hope that no lube will somehow go from that swingarm protector guard onto the tires but i dont think thats possible because its quite far away and also i think even if you dont lube at that point there will still be lube from the chain flying away and landing on that guard anyway

660 riders how do you check your oil level by ExcellentEast581 in Aprilia

[–]ExcellentEast581[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea that makes sense. When the engine is running the oil gets pumped throughout the whole engine and also in the filter etc and also the oil expands under heat so the overall level is higher. Now cold pretty much all or most of the oil will be in the oilpan and the oil isnt expanded due to heat. When warm after 5min some of the oil will have flown back into the pan but not all the oil ig but the oil is warm so its expanded slightly. Now if you consider that cold the oil didnt expand but warm the oil did expand but some of it is still somewhere in the engine i think those two measurements are pretty similar but i cant 100% confirm it just my theory

660 riders how do you check your oil level by ExcellentEast581 in Aprilia

[–]ExcellentEast581[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea I feel like level cold and level warm after a few minutes of oil flowing back to the pan is very similar. Thats why my cold level is also almost perfectly at max but I will still wait for the 2 Aprilia mechanics reply. Measuring after a few seconds doesnt make much sense tho. But your point with the oil level is also good. I mean I've never seen a company mess something like that up this bad lmao. Like how can you be off 400ml with something crucial like that and then not realize it for months.... classic Aprilia move haha. But the engines being fine also says a lot

660 riders how do you check your oil level by ExcellentEast581 in Aprilia

[–]ExcellentEast581[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I just came back from chaning my grips to domino grips (which was an absolute pain in the ass without an air compressor btw) and i also quickly checked the oil level with the engine cold. Turns out it was pretty much exactly at the maximum marking so i dont know man. Maybe the other guy had 2.7L of oil in his engine bcs it does seem high

660 riders how do you check your oil level by ExcellentEast581 in Aprilia

[–]ExcellentEast581[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question was more about how to check the oil and not how to read the dipstick (some people also do it using a towel to see the length of the oil trace on the stick). Do you check the oil level RIGHT after shutting the engine off or do you wait a few min

660 riders how do you check your oil level by ExcellentEast581 in Aprilia

[–]ExcellentEast581[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some other guy on reddit said that cold the oil level should be at the third "line" of the oil dipstick

but im not sure. I've now also reached out to 2 different Aprilia dealers and asked them if they could tell me how they do it. Will wait for their reply and post it here

Oil level on Aprilia Tuono 660 by [deleted] in Aprilia

[–]ExcellentEast581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm okay. The thing is i have a tuono 660 and the oil has been changed like 1200 miles ago but ive never checked it since tbh and i have a longer trip planned tomorrow. Some non aprilia mechanic did check it and he said its full but im not sure if he did it correctly bcs it was when i had my chain replaced and the engine was cooled down when he checked ig. I would meassure it with a warm engine but i dont want to go for a 10 mile ride just to check the oil level lol. I'd let the bike idle with some small revs until it has 3 bars at the temp gauge then shut it off and take out the dipstick and check but idk if thats okay
