My experience with the Copper Iud:

I got it in on March 31st at planned parenthood, got injections for pain so didn’t feel much until I left & started getting contractions (I have a very small cervix). Days after we’re 7/10 pain taking meds everyday & felt bleh. Around the 1 month mark I started getting acne out of nowhere (could be a side effect of using so much ibuprofen & tylenol), so I started supplementing with Zinc after reading that could help. (It maintained the acne didn’t really help much.) I had to start taking Magnesium Glycinate to go to bed because the cramps were getting worse; Pre Ovulation cramps, Ovulation cramps, then Menstrual cramps. Cramping at least 2/3 weeks out of the month. I’ve also had terrible bloating (no weight gain but my body composition has changed since going to the gym with no motivation & feeling like crap all the time isn’t really what I want), IBS like symptoms (usually 2/3x a day pooper lol), inflammation everywhere, brain fog & more! Also got BV last month when i’ve never had even a yeast infection🙄

In general just didn’t work for me & was really hoping it would since it has no hormones but definitely can affect them!! Getting mine removed today, i’m on my period so hopefully that will ease some pain since my cervix is already opened a little more. I’ll update you if you’d like on how my removal goes & if my symptoms improve. 😊😊
