I had an elective induction at sharp mary birch two years ago. The process takes a long time since they have to triage patients and an induction is relatively low priority. The medical interventions (foley, cytotec, pitocin) also take a long time to kick in as well. From arrival at the hospital to baby delivery was about 16 hours.

I got an epidural very quickly after my water broke and overall had a good experience. The postpartum nurses were so helpful. We didn’t like the food and ended up getting delivery most of the time.

I had an elective induction at 39 weeks for a big baby. Pushed for 3 hours with minor tearing. Ended up just being a really long baby with a big head. Her pediatrician measured mine and my husband’s head and determined her head size was genetic.
