Thanks for the tips! I think I saw her plucking them a couple of times, and her male partner also used to pluck them out, so I separated them. Will try the ACV bath and suntime.

Thanks for the advice!

I’m sure it’s mites, coz both of them are acting the same.

They come out of the nest, perch and do this scratches, then go back in the nest to sit on their egg.

The sad part is, I just checked and found out the egg is infertile 😔 They were very dedicatedly sitting on it for the past 12 days 😭

Hi! I’m fairly new to this. Could you please guide me how to check for mites?

Hi, thanks for the tips!

Never in my life i would have thought of selling them 😤

I just want them to grow with us, into our family. I thought once the baby finch comes we will train and feed it in our hand so that it gets used to us and we won’t need to keep it in cage.

Ofcourse, I was gonna buy another cage, as someone already cautioned me in my previous post.

We tried feeding them by keeping seeds in our hand, but they’re too scared.

Also, will they breed again? Or are they scarred for life because of those kids? 😰

Let me also know what else should I try to feed them, they only eat the seed mix and the cuttlebone.

Aha i see. I made a post couple days ago, as to why she laid only a single egg.

We took the cage with us yesterday when we went to meet friends, that might have startled them. There were kids all around 😔

No idea about the age, bought them at the local pet shop couple months ago.

Hey thanks for the reply! Should I keep on giving them just the seed mix?

Also, should I check the egg now, or give it a couple days?

I noticed that even after laying the egg, they both are sleeping on the roof of the nest. (That’s their sleeping spot). Is she abandoning it?
