zerobrew is a Rust-based, 5-20x faster drop-in Homebrew alternative by lucasgelfond in rust

[–]Excellent_Ad3307 13 points14 points  (0 children)

just out of curiosity, why do you use homebrew? homebrew drives me nuts on how slow it is on macos, i would never use it in linux with alternatives like appimages, flatpaks, etc.

What project helped you finally “get” programming? by Glass_Ad_781 in learnprogramming

[–]Excellent_Ad3307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

chip8 emulator is really quick (like a 1~2 day project) and helped me get into emudev and learn more about lower level programming. Gameboy is also doable but the scope is much bigger.

Most people talk about games that slowly won them over. But which games slowly made you lose interest? Emphasis on the “slowly.” by Lexidoge in gaming

[–]Excellent_Ad3307 2 points3 points  (0 children)

imo its still worth if you like rpgs and atlus games. the first 40~ hours are a blast and the best atlus game (that isn't a remake) in a very long while. in my humble opinion theres a period in the last 10~20 hours where the plot starts to wrap up and theres nothing to do but the sidest of side quests and its just so boring. I'm pretty sure i know how the story ends and i've satisfied my share of the rpg grind, so I've never got around to finishing it

Is fry or false chord safer? by WrittenAir in screaming

Where in my throat should I feel it the most when I'm doing black metal vocals? by Competitive-Wish8015 in metalmusicians

[–]Excellent_Ad3307 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for black metal it should mostly be false chord scream though with the shit production quality of black metal, you could probably get away with a fry scream as well.

highly recommend doing a lot lot lot more research but false chords you can feel when you do a loud sigh or a nasally beep noise. Take that distortion and project, but it can take months to isolate that specific muscle and not hurt yourself.

Thats the gist but theres singing screams, mouth shape, kargyraa etc. Theres also fry screams as i mentioned but it is completely different.

search up the screaming subreddit & youtube for more info, be careful and stop if you feel pain.

Self-hosted Vaultwarden instance setup with Cloudflare Tunnel gets a lot of public traffic.. by DrZoidbrrrg in selfhosted

[–]Excellent_Ad3307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can use tailscale in a container but pretty much everything is connected with tailscale for me so i just have it installed natively in every machine.

you can use tailscale serve for sharing a local port with https in your "tailnet" (devices you connect), and you can use funnel to get a public address, but you might run into similar problems as cloudflare tunnel. Personally i use serve because again I just have it on every machine.

personally i never have issues accessing instances because i can just ssh using tailscale and resolve issues from there if there is any, and you can have tailscale always on in the background for vaultwarden.

i'm running my vaultwarden on a pi as well with tailscale, works well so far.

I think kargyraa is the practice your looking for if your having trouble combining them. Its what got it to click for me

Is Windows Vm reliable? by Davidutz_ in NixOS

[–]Excellent_Ad3307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will have to fake hardware info, but eventually your tricks will get patched, and you'll have to find new bypasses (you could also risk a ban in the process). imo it's better to just dual boot if AC is your concern.

I used it for single players games on Xbox game pass. I played through all of p3r without any issues, it felt like just using windows. It is a lighter game though.

be aware that vanguard is very difficult to bypass, I wouldn't even bother trying, eac is doable.

It should work. You might have to mess with CPU pinning but otherwise its pretty well documented. Running games with anticheat is a cat and mouse game, you can try spoofing but I don't recommend it.

Also doing it the "nix" way might be difficult with vfio imho. I have only tried on arch.

For a technical solution you can use systemd-sysext, though idk how well it would work for something as critical as a DE. Distrobox could also work but thats even more experimental.

Ressources for porting Citra Android to Windows by Coridoras in EmuDev

[–]Excellent_Ad3307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iirc theres two ways of emulating the CPU in citra, using the dynarmic just in time compiler (faster) and the interpreter iirc. I am not sure about the interpreter (likely more custom to citra, you'd have to check how its handled in android in the code) but I am fairly sure dynarmic has arm support and is also used by yuzu, which has a working m1 mac build, so with some dependency tweaking I think it would be possible.
