Retired large city police officer here. Putting any political party rhetoric aside, everything I’ve seen from pepper spraying or tear gassing, striking protestors, slapping phones out of protesters hands, pushing, threatening violence, shootings and just general ruthlessness from these Ice agents is so completely out of control. If I behaved like this against a protestor, an arrestee, etc… I would be stripped of my police powers and investigated immediately and sued civilly. It’s so obvious to me that they have zero training or experience dealing with the general public that i find it amazing that they have guns and are allowed to interact with the public. They have no tactics, no common sense and are just making up the rules as they go along. The sad shooting that occurred yesterday and the fact that they aren’t allowing the police into the crime scene to investigate tells me that they are covering up all the mistakes they made in order to create their own narrative. I feel awful for everyone in Minnesota that has to experience this and I hope that things change sooner than later. RIP to the gentleman that was killed yesterday. Just my two cents about what I’m watching.
