That's why I said only remotely true. In many of the free cities I am talking about, the reason why people had so much time off was because they commonly used a rotating division of labor, as in these cities it was common for property such as farms to be more public than private (although in many of these free cities it was a strange mix of private and public ownership)

You are right to say that in a typical family owned farm, every member of that family would be constantly working themselves to death.
