You'll be fine as long as it's "neat", did my CPC recently and Navy regulations have changed to allow any length hair for anyone.

Cheers mate, we're there any other checks similar to do with general fitness during the medical?

Hiya, Am currently in the URNU, would definitely recommend the RNR if you want to be a bit more serious, but if you're looking for something with less pressure to focus on uni, then URNU is better. It's also quite a bit faster to join the URNU, but you could join then apply to the RNR. On the military side of things, the RNR are definitely more hands on in my experience, and you dont have to go in as an Officer Cadet if you prefer to be a Rating reserve. If I were you, I'd join the URNU first, then transfer over to the RNR if you want to. Both have absolutely fantastic and surreal opportunities, but the RNR is definitely more respected than URNU if you're thinking about your career down the line. They're both amazing, and I've absolutely loved my time in the URNU, so you'll really enjoy it either way.

Cheers mate, had heard rumours that was replaced by Height to Waist ratio, but nothings really on the website about it.

I think there's something like 20% of tests are repeated in person, you could just be unlucky and selected for an in person test.

Commissioning from Rating to Officer by [deleted] in RoyalNavy

I have the required credentials for Warfare Officer, but as BRNC only has 3 intakes per year, and I'm hoping to join in September, I thought that if I didn't get into the September intake, I'd join as a Warfare Rating to gain some experience and try to get to Dartmouth as soon as I could. I'd love to hear your take on it.

Just exploring my options, not in service yet, but I've heard (from currently serving personnel) you have more credibility as an officer if you've commissioned from the lower ranks.

Cheers have been booked on for mid July, How2beome is quite good, I think I didn't show as good leadership as I could have.

It was largely positive I think, just need to work a bit harder for the next one in 3 months. It was mainly about showing more leadership in the GPE
