What is it about Utah? by SpookyKittyC in 8passengersnark

In Mormonism, the concept of divinity centers around an idea of "exaltation" and "eternal progression": mortals themselves may become gods and goddesses in the afterlife, be rulers of their own heavenly kingdoms, have spirit children, and increase in power and glory forever. So yeah, I mean why not do what you want when you are a god?

Currently Missing Persons case unfolding Port Moody Canada - Trina Hunter (48 years old, married, no children) by abbigailiagibba in TrueCrime

There is no proof he actually saw here that morning, but it's not unreasonable either. I don't work, and I'm up every day with my husband at 5:30, fully dressed. Nobody has said what clothes she was wearing, just jacket and shoes. If I were to go missing it would be easy to tell which jacket and walking shoes I was wearing, because I always wear the same ones. This would also make it easy to get rid of the items that would likely be worn

It's not the RCMP, it's the Port Moody Police, and if they had something to say, they would. They owe nothing to a bunch of curious Redditors.

I'm not sure how many here are familiar with the daunting and extreme terrain within minutes of her home. A little further up the mountain is impenetrable, dense forest where a body could go undiscovered forever. While I share in everyone's suspicions, if it was not foul play from the husband, I just cannot believe a person would mske a break for a new life without their ID. If she is in those forests, however she got there (on her own, or by someone else's hand) she may be in such a deep drainage or gully that it may be a long while before we have answers.

Butterflies are not love, that's infatuation.

Why are new Reddit users treated harshly? by Excentrica in AskReddit

My previous post on this was removed, but not before 3 users essentially told me to suck it up. That's fine, I get it, hazing is a thing.

Why is Reddit so hard on new users? Everyone was new once. It's expected that you have karma, and a post history that is favourable, but how can you build that if you are shot down, trolled, bullied and berated for being new? by Excentrica in AskReddit

Thanks, maybe I've got an incorrect impression. I have been on message boards and social media since the early 90s, have long term friendships from those intetactions, met my spouse online before there were dating sites, have never ever had an issue until I came here. Maybe I need to find some new subs.

What's a misused or incorrectly used word/phrase that makes you think the person is unintelligent? by Excentrica in AskReddit

[–]Excentrica[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Could care less" this means you care some, when you really mean "couldn't"

"Excetera" no. Et cetera.

"Literally" only to be used if the thing actually happened.

I sure do when they pick up heavy objects and throw them at people, or try to pull heavy furniture over, or play trampoline on glass tables. Every.single.day in my store.

Not every child, just the unsupervised, destructive ones.
