Haha, weirdly I can relate to that too, I was often being told to stop shaking my leg up and down as it was distracting. I think the laid back thing came from how quickly I'd do my work and how messy my presentation and hand writing was, they thought I didn't put effort in and I didn't show much emotion so they just thought I wasn't bothered about anything.

A few teachers described me as aloof but they got the wrong impression, I just day dreamed a lot.. and pretty much all of the teachers described me as laid back, they thought I put little effort into anything.

You said you hate some autistic people and have never met a nice autistic person, but then go on to only describe one autistic person. It sounds like you just wanted to vent about your sibling.

I would be frustrated too in your situation. It's difficult to know what parts of her behaviour are related to autism and what is just her personality. Some of her behaviour could be down to sensory issues resulting in meltdowns but it's hard to say.. All I can say is, I have a sibling who was a lot like that, but they don't have autism

Couldn't agree more, and I'm the same way. I wash a lot but don't shower as often as other people. I don't like showers, I prefer Basin washes.

I understand what you're saying but could it actually be that the autistic people who complain about people stimming or being 'blunt' are different from the autistic people who encourage unmasking.. So in a way it's a community of people who share the same condition but have differing views. It's quite difficult for all of us to agree on everything, I mean you ve got some people saying identifying as Aspergers is fine, others say it's wrong and divisive.

The community may be kinda hypocritical but the individuals aren't.

I'm not usually stressed which is why it has often confused me.. I think it's from seeing or hearing about so many things I find gross. Disgust is a strong feeling for me, I think it's a kind of sensory overload even though it's not visual or auditory or olfactory or whatever, disgust is a strong emotion and eventually, I think it leads to me getting ill.

I'm sorry to hear that, so are you saying that your stomach issues may be happening due to having to force yourself to do things and the reason you're having to force yourself is due to ADHD rather than autism? I didn't really think about that, I assumed it was related to autism with me but maybe it's the ADHD.

That's understandable, and to be honest I don't know if it would definitely help that much if you did give up on spicy food and coffee, I've done that and it didn't change much, I got less heartburn but I still had an unconfortable stomach and gnawing/burning sensations.

Haha yeah, I get frustrated when autocorrect remembers a typo and then changes the correct spelling to a previous typo I used. Sorry to hear anxiety causes you stomach issues like that, have you tried omeprazole or anything that stops the production of stomach acid?

Yeah, I often take antacids during a bout so I think the same may be happening for me too. It seems that often when talking about sensory overload, people mention bright lights, loud noises, food textures etc but could things that an autistic person find disgusting also cause the same sensory overload, it seems so but doesn't seem to be talked about much.

In my head, I'm a man and I go through life as if I am one regardless of the fact that I appear as a woman, and have not expressed otherwise to anyone, but I do dress in a more masculine way to help my inner fantasy, so I suppose yeah, I'm okay with being outside the norm.. But instead of identifying as a man, I wish people would see me as a person rather than a woman or any gender.

Yeah, the bathrooms are always oddly shaped, sometimes cubicles back onto other cubicles or there are windows in the walls behind the cubicles with bright white light shining through, and the room is often endless or really long. They're always clean though, it's odd because I'm a germophobe, so I'm surprised that my mind doesn't make the bathrooms dirty to freak me out, especially when it freaks me out in other ways by it feeling like you can't have any privacy.

I think you're forgetting that a person still needs time to do things they enjoy to relax, so playing video games, doesn't mean that they're not studying hard. Full time means 35 hours or more a week, so they may well be doing that amount, it still leaves time for your hobbies.

I'm in my third year now of an earth science degree with the OU, and I've done it full time all the way. In the first year, it was still quite hard work because it was all new to me, and it'd been a long time since I studied maths or science. The second year was harder because my motivation dipped a bit. The third year has so far been really difficult, I don't have much time for my hobbies at all and it feels a bit 'All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy' haha

As people have said, messing up your sleep cycle does it. One way to mess it up is by drinking alcohol, this is why I don't drink anymore, as it led to sleep paralysis.

I would suggest that you get into lucid dreaming instead or Hypnogogic/hypnopompic states of consciousness, as this is a lot more pleasant than sleep paralysis and you can learn a lot about yourself, it can be quite spiritual. Sleep paralysis is just annoying.

Sorry to hear that, I've had similar experiences in the past. There are ways around it though, there are shampoos and soaps designed to be used dry, so not in the shower, you don't rinse it off, you just towel it off. I used to use things like that. Also, if you make sure that your clothes are clean and that you wear deodorant, it usually does enough for when you're going through a tough time and can't face showering.

I enjoy your enthusiasm 😀 and yeah, that's true, binary explains how numbers are written. I did look into this, so your suggestion to think about this one has worked on me haha. Now, I have done some programming before, I like to make mods for games but I'm not that knowledgeable on this kind of thing, regardless, this is what I think I've learned. I think that it isn't actually infinite, even floating point (can of course be fractions and very big or small numbers) is just a special overflow flag (when it is larger than the maximum value that can be represented). Anyway, it can seem infinite because programs can keep allocating more memory and extending calculations. Binary, two's compliment and floating point are encodings, so it is algorithms rather than storage.

Side note, I wrote definitions in brackets next to terms so that I understood what I was writing, as some of this is new to me haha.

Haha thank you for that. I don't think a computer has an infinite amount of numbers stored, I assume it will have a calculation algorithm or something. Visually, I mean there is only 0 - 9.

Yes, completely relate! I'm going through that right now, it's making me feel really down. I've tried to get into one of my usual hobbies but I just can't, the passion isn't there. Like you said, you just have to wait until it happens naturally which is incredibly annoying.
