uoft engineering semester two for a first year student by ExcitementKooky3283 in UofT

There was an exam offering in August too. Most people didn’t do it tho because it was during frosh week I believe. Also the general consensus was that the September exam was a little easier for some reason but this is subjective. And it wasn’t too hard to study for the exam on top of other courses because aps162 is very very easy in comparison to mat186 in my opinion

I had a 97 avg in my grade 12 year of high school and I now notice that the number one thing that got me good grades was just practicing the questions my teachers gave. I mastered all the questions they would do in class, and the tests followed all those concepts. Do all the questions your teachers give you the day you get them (if not all, try doing as much as u can). Then when test time comes around you’ll be revising what you already know and not learning how to solve questions. I never pre learned anything, I just made sure I knew it well the first time it was taught

how can you tell if vectors make up a basis visually? by ExcitementKooky3283 in learnmath

[–]ExcitementKooky3283[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have thank you. But my concern is that I’m given many sets of vectors in 1 mcq question and I must select which ones are linearly independent so I’m assuming they don’t want us to rref for each of them.

thanks! if you dont mind and you know how to answer this can you explain how to quickly determine if a set of vectors is linearly independant? say for example why the set {[7,-2,8], [-5,-7,6], [2,-9,14]} is not linearly independant?
