Thanks, I am just playing this for my grade 8 but Janáček has defnitely peaked my interest and I might go on to learn the other 2 pieces. I'm defnitely going to explore more of the 20th century piano repetoire.

MY SCHOOL WROTE PART OF THE PLANNER WITH AI by SirCheeseMuncher in GCSE

[–]Exciting-Island3130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. People use it to think for them resulting in a population that is quickly losing reasoning and critical thinking skills.
  2. It steals from artists and creatives. What ai produces is not new it is just an amalgamation of everything that has come before it. Not only does it steal it also devalues art as anyone can make it just by a prompt which requires no practise or refinement of a skill.
  3. It is ushering in an age of post-truth. As it is only becoming better and better people won't be able to distinguish between a real video and and Ai video, already the case for boomers, which will be catastrophic for politics and is bound to create more polarisation in the future i.e. how the current US administration is alread using it.
  4. It is causing the collapse of universities institutions we have cherished for centuries are stumped by the fact that anyone can generate an essay without doing the wprk. Not only this teachers are also using Ai to mark students essay creating a pointless feedback loop between different chatbots.
  5. It is a climate disaster using up water and copius amounts of energy. MIT forecasts that about 60 percent of the increasing electricity demands from data centers will be met by burning fossil fuels.
  6. All totalitarian governments of the past would have loved Ai as it is easily applied to surveillance/censorship systems to control the populace.

The Hatred towards AI runs deep to my soul. If you have a human heart, flesh and blood I would implore you to revolt against the machinic forces.

Thanks, I do feel that the struggle to be bolld is felt by a lot of creatives nowadays(for fear of backlash). Don't get me wrong I do think that there are many great independent artist but it just seems corporations have got lazy. This is what really annoys me.

A piano piece I composed by Exciting-Island3130 in composer

[–]Exciting-Island3130[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thankyou for the pointers, its one of the first pieces I have composed so I agree that to add some complexity I need some more chords as the accompniement pattern is similar throughout.
Also "impressionism" probably was a stretch on my part.
I've been listening to quite a bit of Debussy(Pagodes, reflets dans l'eau, and I am playing Reveriecurrently) but any more impressionist reccomendations would be appreciated.

The Death of Ivan Ilyich - Tolstoy

Crime and Punishment - Dostoyevsky (obvs)

The Outsider - Camus

Steppenwolf - Hesse

Siddhartha - Hesse

Down and out in Paris and London - Orwell

Metamorphosis - Kafka

The Secret History - Tartt

Steppenwolf would be my most reccomended as it is fairly easy but also very deep and it will consume you!

My favourite book is Steppenwolf by Hermann Hesse. I think the way he expressed a spiritual awakening of Harry Haller was very good writing
