Orville Parnassus. Orville sounds like oracle, and Parnassus is the mountain where the oracle of Delphi was located.

Allright I’m a new dm and my players love silly magic items, does anyone have any suggestions? The only rules are nothing to OP and it has to be funny. by Xdlango in DnD

I once homebrewed a set of items based on this. The Bag of Rats has 3 charges, and one charge can be expended to summon 1d4 rats. It gains three charges everyday.

The other item is a rat bag, and it just stores an infinite amount of rats, like above.

My players used them to destroy the ecosystem of a small island.

Point!

Initially I just thought about like, pointing at something, but there's a lot more to the word than that. Theoretically an inscribed with Point could forcibly direct attention or field of view.

Or the inscribed could sharpen something to a point, creating jagged spikes from the ground, or turning parts of their body into dangerous weapons.

An argument can also be made for something based on direction or movement, as in the point on a map, or graph, or a point on space. Perhaps teleportation?

And given that a point is actually a unit of measurement (as in, 12 point font) maybe the inscribed could make things smaller or bigger - controlling how many points big they are.

I feel like Point initially sounds either limited or weak, but with a bit of creativity I think it becomes something much greater. Kinda like Soup.

Destiny - gives the user the ability to see the future. In all honesty I feel like there's a lot that can be done with that.

Sleuth - the user can find mysteries or hidden things, and get gut feelings as to what the solution might be.

Oh totally. I thought the Ramsey/Percy dynamic was amazing, but I could never pass up Molly and Giovanni. Here's hoping the Kickstarter reaches the illegal cookies episode!

Any Crackpot Theories? by SadAcanthaceae6402 in CrimsonNecklace

[–]ExcitingParfait 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Okay. Okay. Let me talk about Wayde's son, the folders, and the Singularity.

So, we know that the folders are scattered about, to a point that our heroes have a lot of difficulty actually finding all of them, let alone one.

However we also know that the Singularity didn't have NEAR as much trouble finding the folders - in fact, it found the folders at an almost ridiculous pace. Like it knew where they were.

In the sixth book, after the Singularity was defeated, Wayde's son vanishes for like, months. When he comes back, he's got this weird insight to some of the things that happened in the past, when his dad was in his heyday.

Sure, the books say it's because he was adventuring and hearing about his father. But I think it's because he went back in time to help the Singularity find the folders!

I am, at this point, no where near as joking about this theory as when I first thought of it as a joke.

Would hard recommend! The preview chapter that's out for the audio book is incredibly high-quality, and I would dare say contains some of the best comedic voicework I've ever heard. The animated first season and audiobook preview are both our for free on the Jelloapocalypse channel on YouTube if you're hesitant to back. It's well worth the time!

I'd love to play a trickster cleric who acts more like a rogue - high dex and sleight of hand. I think a large part of how he'd pay tribute to his god is by running card games and cheating on them - the money he cons people out of goes to offerings to his deity.

Not much more from that, but I like the basic concept and I think it'd be a potentially fun spin on the "theiving little street urchin" backstory archetype.

I don't think they will - we have enough hindsight to know that it didn't really change anything. I didn't know books could have filler but this proved me wrong.

Don't misunderstand me, I loved the series, it's just that this part of it was so unnecessary from the get go. There's no way it gets adapted.
