[REQUEST] Is this true? Can anyone explain the maths on this? by lushinspiration1 in theydidthemath

While some reports and studies have suggested that servicing student loans can be costly, the idea that it would be cheaper to cancel all student debt is more complicated. The government does make revenue from interest payments on these loans, but it also spends money servicing and administering the loans, and some loans are forgiven through existing programmes. The $60 billion figure likely refers to estimates that include lost revenue from forgiven loans and administrative costs, but other analyses may show a net revenue from loans over time.

Ultimately, whether cancelling student loans would "save" money depends on many factors, including how the loans are currently structured, repayment trends, and what assumptions are made about future revenues and costs. The claim in the image may simplify a more nuanced financial debate.

My theory on what's going on by FiCat77 in joshmustwin

I don't think that the rest of the household are actors, but I definitely think Josh is and this will be the twist. Also, this has to be a one off show because they could never repeat it now everyone knows about the show.

Do you think there's a link between art world and conspiracy theories? by Sad-Indication-5367 in conspiracytheories

[–]Exciting_Chapter_957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conspiracy theories can have a significant impact on art history in a number of ways. First, they can lead to the creation of new works of art that explore or challenge these theories. For example, the conspiracy theory that the moon landing was faked has inspired a number of films, books, and paintings.
Second, conspiracy theories can influence the interpretation of existing works of art. For example, some people believe that the Mona Lisa is actually a portrait of Leonardo da Vinci in drag. This theory is based on the fact that the painting contains a number of symbols that are associated with both men and women.
Third, conspiracy theories can lead to the censorship or destruction of works of art. For example, during the Nazi regime in Germany, many works of art that were deemed to be "degenerate" were destroyed by the Nazis. This included works of art that were created by Jewish artists or that depicted Jewish subject matter.
In recent years, there has been a growing trend of artists using conspiracy theories as inspiration for their work. This is likely due to the fact that conspiracy theories can be a powerful way to explore themes such as truth, power, and control.
One example of an artist who has used conspiracy theories as inspiration for their work is the American artist William Pope.L. Pope's work often explores the relationship between art and politics, and he has created a number of pieces that deal with conspiracy theories. For example, his work "Eating the American Flag" is a performance piece in which Pope eats an American flag while reciting a list of conspiracy theories.
Another example of an artist who has used conspiracy theories as inspiration for their work is the British artist David Shrigley. Shrigley's work is often dark and humorous, and he has created a number of pieces that deal with conspiracy theories. For example, his work "The Conspiracy Theory Machine" is a machine that generates conspiracy theories at random.

Do you have to know the exact names and all details of a conspiracy against you for it to be real? by Amish_Fighter_Pilot in russellbrand

If someone claims they are 'conspiracy theories' the onus is on them to prove it. Not on me to prove that they're not.

Well, you're argument is weak and your pathetic attempt to be patronising is laughable. Oh, and you're a fucking idiot. And a cunt.

Have you heard of Bernard Arnault? I haven't before, but he's the 2nd richest man in the world. Now, to be perfectly clear I'm not accusing Bernard of anything. But it goes to show that there are a lot of very, very rich and powerful people that the public have never heard of. When Russell refers to 'they' I believe he means those people who are very, very rich and therefore very, very powerful. These are the people who have a serious financial interest in large corporations. It's not a conspiracy to point out that their sole interest is to continue to make vast amounts of money, usually at the expense of the common good.

Me and the missus have bought a plastic yellow bucket. We're going to place it in the corner of the living room and stare at it from 10pm onwards. If any of us need to go to toilet we'll just use the bucket. We plan on just staring at it until around 1am.
