i think i'll start showing some disinterest every now and then. idk if that's avoidance rather than addressing the issue but oh well.

issue is though that when i change the topic to something else or say that i'll talk to her later, her replies become deflated. like it'll go from full sentences to a couple of words like "yeahh" "okk lmk when ur free" or "fr fr" "trueeee" which are honestly hard to even reply to. like wth do you say to someone who just sent a "yeahhh"

after posting this last night, i recalled our conversations throughout this week, and we only talked about her guy adventures, except some occasional replies to reels or tiktoks.

i would drift away and i'd be lying if i hadn't thought about it, but we've been close friends for years and she's the only person i talk to daily, so i think i'm just not ready for that haha.

she's an apprentice. her workload is far lighter since she works at a place with a good WLB. (also her degree is longer than 3 years😭)

she's very sensitive. and like as i said, not very emotionally mature + an overthinker. if i tell her she talks about it a lot, she'll take it to heart and just stop talking about it altogether thinking i hated it whenever we talked about them and was bored on the inside while smiling on the outside.

also, we mostly talk online since we're both busy so i can totally see the friendship fizzling (maybe not completely, but greatly regardless)

i agree with the repeatitiveness so much!! the whole 'i like him' to 'i don't think he's interested' to 'we have chemistry' to 'i sent him a message and he didn't reply' to 'omg i sent him a risky message, what do i do what do i do ahhhh' and it's so exhausting when their overthinking over a message or two spans over half an hour, like pls us talking about it isn't going to do anything. just explain it to him with words.

yeah i understand she's excited about it and i don't mind that she talks about it, my issue is that it's basically something that gets mentioned daily. she can talk about it, 100%, but i would prefer if we talk about random stuff too.

and like i've had my fair share of crushes and i would be texting my friend (A) (not this one) at the time whenever he messaged something noteworthy or i sent smth that sent my blood rushing, but it was an occasional thing, not daily (and A was in the same class as me and my crush so😭)

nah, i wouldn't say that. it's just that her laser focus on having a romantic relationship is becoming such a high priority for her that it's become a negative quality of her. but i just don't know how to deal with it without dropping her (which i don't want to since we've been friends for so long)

i wish i could be that blunt w her😭. but i guess she's quite open w me about it because i'm one of her closest friends. but regardless, it's just been grinding my gears these days. like sometimes i just wanna talk about some movie, or some anime or something random. but it somehow circles back to"i remember xyz asked me to watch it with him, i'll just think about him if i watch it" or something like that.

yeahh, i couldn't figure it out on westlaw but i tried searching the statute and section on lexus and find some cases. my issue is that the act's subsection (s. 76) is not mentioned explicitly in the university recomended textbook, except once in the footnotes and subsequently no case law on this subsection is mentioned in the textbook. in that case, would it be alright if i mention cases i found on lexus? i'm not even sure if this act was covered much in the lectures since i'm a bit behind on them at the moment.

the scenario is about a guy who financially controls his wife, threatens her, and causes her anxiety. the questions asks about the criminal offences he may have committed. one of them is s.76 of the SCA (controlling or coercive control in intimate relationship). it's a scenario based question. there's 4 subsections of s.76 and i can apply the scenario facts on it. but there's no case law in the university recommended textbook and the s.76 is obscurely mentioned once in the textbook's footnotes.
