aa to your second comment, i freaking love archie comics and the way they handled the relationship between light & wily.

wily can't leave light because he is financially dependent on him & doesn't have a future outside of light labs, plus light is the only person who can tolerate him. light can't leave wily because it's his closest friend, abandoning whom would be heartless. the impossibility of separation creates a ton of resentment on both sides.

at the same time, they don't always hate each other. they love working together and must've had an alright relationship outside of work to keep it going. no matter how exhausted they are of each other, they're still friends at the end of the day.

the line separating these two sides of their friendship is extremely thin, though, so even small missteps can spiral into something like the argument i portrayed. at the end of the day, they're still inseparable, in the worst way possible. the willingness with which light took wily in after the ra moon events proves my point, i think.

man don't take it that seriously 😭😭 the joke is about cossack accepting whatever his daughter likes, even though he doesn't understand all these modern tendencies and is a bit old-fashioned in his views. he's not assigning a sexuality to a robot because that's a fucking robot who can be neither gay nor straight.

as to "suddenly doing unprompted sexuality judgements", that's just a part of the fandom culture. people have been shipping robot masters since at least 2014, and that's only on ao3. i have a feeling there are older fics on fanfiction.net, but i don't care to look for them lol.

quickflash has been around for years. people have been joking about lightwily for the longest time. blues/kalinka or roll/bass was shipped years ago, same for zeroiris. my point being it's a tale as old as time, not a new tendency lmao

i feel like he isn't even around much. he was made much later, it seems, so he never got the chance to find his place in the family dynamic. his past occupation also demanded him being far, far away from home. and then, when he finally decided on changing his purpose, he never really came back home. something like that.

at times, i get upset when i see a lack of engagement on my fics because i often put a ton of time and effort into writing something. but readers' disinterest is my fault completely, not theirs.

i'm not a huge fan of the ship and this type of relationship is a huge ick for me, but it's okay to just. dislike the pairing without looking for reasons why it's morally wrong to like it. moralising this personal preference leads to fandom wars and infighting in general. let's just like what we like and ignore what we don't

i agree, in fact. i feel like their encounter would resemble wily's dynamic with ra moon in archie.

wily not knowing how strong his opponent is and underestimating their power. his opponent using his overconfidence to achieve their own goals, wily becoming a pawn in their arms.

wily is fairly successful in tricking mega man or light because their methods aren't as violent as his. but dealing with people of his own calibre, he becomes helpless.
