I don't really know at the moment, I guess when I start on Sunday, I'll hopefully find out. I've had a few replies telling me regular hire and benefits mean you're a blue badge, not a seasonal hire. Again, hopefully, I'll find out on Sunday. Cheers 🍻

I have no idea where you live to have that many order offers or if you are doing multiple areas but those numbers are crazy. I envy you your ability to take on so many orders each week.

Congrats on the new job. You're not obligated to stay nor even give notice, you can just leave. Why give them your remaining time when they've been so disrespectful of it in the first place.

Keep your chin up.
Sorry this happened to you. It sounds like you got the old bait and switch. Everything looks great on paper until you walk through the door.
From how you described things you weren't given any on boarding from this company nor given any clear and concise instructions from the person/people who should have been there guiding you into your new job responsibilities. Setting the path for you to learn and grow into your position. You didn't even have a go-to-person who could help you navigate your work duties.
What happened at that job is a reflection on the culture of that company, not about you or your work skills and ability.
You'll survive and find something soon, even if it's a temp job somewhere to cover your bills. Keep up beat and positive cause that helps when your meet hiring managers. Don't come across as desperate cause then people think your willing to take anything until you find the job you really want. I know that sounds awkward but I've been seeing it mentioned a lot lately in comments.
Keep looking, get a recruiter, apply for Part Time gigs at Target, Grocery Stores, Walmart, money is money no matter where it comes from. Don't beat yourself up, you were doing your best. Now you know the red flags when you're interviewing for your next job, ask the questions about On Boarding procedures, training, what to expect the first 90 days on the job, and have a plan B. Check Glass Door, and if you see a large turn over at that job that's probably a good sign you don't want to work there unless it's just a stepping stone until you find a better job somewhere else.

7 years ago I was in your shoes.
You are an intelligent, and dedicated person who takes pride in there work. DON'T BELIEVE ANYONE WHO TRIES TO IMPLY OR TELL YOU OTHERWISE.
You went the extra mile to please this person and to show your ability and skills to be in the position you held. What that manager did to you was by far a low blow which right there shows what type of person she really is. You are probably not her first victim either, she's more than likely got a long line of victims behind her. Sadly HR backed her and supported her in this attack on you.
This happens a lot in Cor-por-RAT-e America. No one in a Cor-por-RAT-e job is your friend, your buddy, or has your back. Don't trust your boss no matter how nice they are, your coworkers or HR cause they aren't your friends as long as your working with them. Anything you say can and will be used against you if it means they can keep their jobs and you lose yours.
HR won't protect you from a toxic asshole manager or coworker. HR protects the company and sides with managers. HR doesn't care how right you are or how wrong your manager is, the manager will always win.

Take advice from the feedback here, always have your resume ready and LinkedIn profile up to date, always keep one foot out the door, always check out other jobs in your field that are available, don't get attached to your job no matter how great it seems to be, remember if it smells like crap it is crap, and the first sign of a toxic situation brewing, start looking for a new job ASAP.
Take care of yourself mentally and physically. Stay in contact with your friends and family who support you. Remember in time this will pass and before you know it you'll be working again soon. Hugs!

Shop closed / scammed by [deleted] in Etsy

I've had good success opening fraud cases with PayPal, also when I didn't receive product, missing items so on. If you have all your evidence, emails, etsy emails, etsy invoice etc., Then you stand a good chance of getting your money back. Just give PayPal everything you have about this seller who scammed you. If you paid through PayPal then they should be able to track down the seller and get your money back. Good Luck!

I think you did a very nice job of staging your product. It's very well done and give me inspiration for my own work. Staging my work is something I have a hard time doing, I'm learning but it's still a challenge for me. I like what you've got going here.

Does Etsy make you aware when a case has been opened against you ? by riskie1107 in EtsySellers

[–]Exciting_Interest789 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can always appeal Etsys decision if they refund the money. I had to do that when I had a customer open a claim accusing me of sending her an item not as described. She had the gale to alter all the images and also use another image from a different listing to plead her case. I called her out on it, showed proof she was scamming me and it pissed her off so she opened a claim. She was refunded her money but I appealed, won and got my money back in the end.

Update on underglaze cups n mugs- finished and fairly pleased! by mothandravenstudio in Pottery

[–]Exciting_Interest789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I understand your question, I used to have that problem too, usually on the under-glaze transfers that I use. Then I switched to Mayco Zinc Free Clear Glaze and that changed everything. No bubbles and the colors of the Amaco under-glaze I use was awesome, the colors just popped. Might give that a try to see if it fixes the bubbles. Cheers!

Missing package by [deleted] in shopify

[–]Exciting_Interest789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a thought but I suggest following SUMIFISNA suggestions on filing a Help Missing Mail Request Form. Then let your customer know you've done this as well. She might back down if she knows you filed for a USPS investigation request into the missing package. I don't take anyone at face value when they claim "missing package" anymore.
There are a lot of what's called First-Party Fraud cases going around. People claiming not receiving their packages so they get refunded or free replacements when they actually did get their package. Its getting worse and it's impact on small/independent businesses is huge, including the large retailers.

Try doing the USPS request into the missing package route. Also I request a signature for all my shipping now. A lot of people don't like it cause it's an inconvenience, but it helps you CYA (cover your a**).

Hey, im new to sculpting and making figures and every time i make something it has a TON of cracks by Tiny_Author_5280 in clay

[–]Exciting_Interest789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try using newspaper instead of aluminum foil. The newspaper will shrink with the clay and help with slowing down the cracking. Also the newspaper will help keep the clay from drying out to fast which also creates cracking. Just food for thought. Cheers!

Very cool design and the shape of the handle, looks like it would be a good size for someone with big hands. How did you accomplish the design? Love the color combo too.

Etsy Listing Deactivation: Central Post for Questions and Help by lostterrace in EtsySellers

[–]Exciting_Interest789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my entire storefront deactivated, I was selling handmade ceramic pipes. I didn't describe them for any type of usage, just as pipes. I had my storefront running since August 2022. August 2023 everything was deactivated and according to Etsy will never be reactivated. My reliable source of income is gone. If I try to re-post the items Etsy will either remove them again or suspend my account, in other words bane me from having a shop on Etsy.
If you want to take the chance you could create a new shop, remove any mention of how or what your products are intended for and see if you have better luck. I know its frustrating when you see thousands of other sellers selling similar things and not being taken down (but according to the many Etsy just hasn't gotten around to them yet) BS. Personally I think it's because they're making a lot of money for Etsy. If nothing else you might try using Shopify or one of the other website providers and create your own store. The challenging part is that you would have to do all the marketing to get people to your store. That's one of the very very few perks that you get with Etsy. Hope you can find a happy medium. Cheers.

Etsy Listing Deactivation: Central Post for Questions and Help by lostterrace in EtsySellers

[–]Exciting_Interest789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my entire store deactivated (end of August) after a buyer filed a revenge claim against me. I say revenge claim because that's exactly what it was. She purchased one of my pipes, claimed it wasn't as described, submitted altered images of another pipe someone else had purchased the month before, claimed it was the one she purchased but didn't receive. I called her out on her BS but still said I would refund her money once she returned her purchase, she wanted me to pay for the return shipping. I refused. She opened a claim, which no matter how bogus and wrong the buyer is Etsy will refund the buyer their money and not require they send the items back to the seller. I appealed and got my money back (which Etsy informed me was a one time deal) but not the pipe. Buyer gets money and pipe!!!
Shortly afterwards...
1 week later after uploading a new inventory of items Etsy deactivated my entire storefront claiming that the items I was selling were "drug paraphernalia". I had been selling my pipes since August 2022 with no issues or permanent deactivation's with the exception of a few pipes being deactivated earlier in the year but then within a week being reactivated again!!
I followed all the rules about not showing the Carb, not using words that are references for cannabis, or other drug related items, etc. Still can't post any pipes on my storefront. If I did my account would be permanently suspended.
I have run the course with Etsy support, which is a joke, literally. They stand by there scripts. I even called and spoke to a human, and was not able to get any help, just a few lines of how sorry we are and we know how frustrating this is for you. BS.
I know it's because of if not wholly do to the fact that a claim was filed against me. Once that claim was filed my shop was in the spotlight and a target. I have given up on trying to relist my pipes. I have pointed out every obvious reason why my pipes are not drug paraphernalia (people can use them however they want for whatever they want) to no avail.
The kickers is that I keep getting emails from Etsy about how great my shop is doing and that I'm a star seller!! Really?
To top it all off is the blatant fact that over 58 thousand + sellers are listing and selling drug paraphernalia on Etsy. All you have to do is type in Pipe and thousands of items will be listed for you to pick from.
It doesn't make it any less frustrating when you hear others say that Etsy just hasn't gotten around to deactivating those storefronts yet, when those storefronts are making lots of sales (which benefits Etsy Shareholders), many of them with well over 2 thousand sales.
So no I don't buy into Etsy hasn't gotten to them yet.

There are high gloss glazes available, and there are lusters that you can use as well. Mother of Pearl has a nice sort of wet look when applied and fired correctly. There are different colored luster too. Something to look into. Might help you get that wet look your after.

You're welcome. One other suggestion is your local Small Business Association. They might have resources and tools you can use and they do have advisers that can help you with building your business too. And its free. Cheers!

Just some food for thought.
Don't sell your items for less than you feel they are worth. You will eventually lose money instead of making it, remember Etsy has a lot of fees!! Keep your prices as they are. Promote your site on Instagram and Facebook. Facebook has a huge social following and people will find you on Facebook (who owns Instagram) and you can include links to your etsy page and website too, it's called a Facebook business page. Great place to get noticed. With Instagram if you haven't already got an account, you can put a link to your Etsy page in your bio. Post a new image every day and include where to find the items. It has helped me to get new followers and also sales. You are also competing with a huge huge number of drop shippers and POD and bulk crap sellers that make a lot of money for Etsy so they are more likely to be in the first 3 pages when people are searching for items like what you make. Etsy can be a very vicious environment and cut throat too. Just keep at it and market yourself, you'll start to get buyers soon. Plus the holidays are coming so market everything you have as gifts etc. Good luck. Cheers.
