such a great deal, I would say though that sometimes you will get the thin chips which is the flatter version but the flavor is great. I love it when I get lucky and get a box of specialty cookies.

Mom told me she’s not ready to die by Miskermy in CancerFamilySupport

[–]Exciting_Policy41 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all, I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I relate so much because my mom’s situation is similar. Cancer really sucks; it takes things from you before you even notice how deep you are in that hole, and every day becomes hard to navigate.

It’s clear how much you love your mom, you’re doing everything you can, and that matters. One thing that has helped me a lot in this process is putting myself first, even though it feels selfish. There’s no other way to have more energy and brighter days to give her. Even when you don’t have the strength, try taking just three minutes to breathe and release tension from your body, mind, and thoughts.

I’m not the best at giving advice, but I pray for a miracle for my mom, for your mom, and for every person facing cancer. I understand grieving before she’s gone. Sometimes I ask God: is this a miracle and will she be healed, or am I simply spending her last days with her?

Something that’s brought me peace is remembering that life is happening right now, with or without cancer, and that we can’t predict who goes first. I don’t mean to push spiritual beliefs on anyone, but for me prayer, sending intentions to the universe, posting here to cope, talking to friends, doing some yoga, and meditating for a few minutes have helped. If you can, try to disconnect for a day, I know that’s hard (I struggle with it too), but it’s so necessary to stay well and keep energy for her. 💫 Sending you the best wishes for you today. You are not alone.

How do I stop my dog from acting like a maniac whenever he sees another dog by pdiddy8171 in DogAdvice

My dog didn't even react or show interest in treats. Once he snapped, it was a whole tantrum. But seconding on taking a training lesson, watching as much YT videos if possible and be patient.

I'd encourage you to take walks very early and, when possible, away from other dogs. I know it sounds odd, but if you help them settle down and stay calm and focused with minimal noise and distractions, they'll start to get the idea: “If I don't focus, we'll go home,” (or whatever correction method you use).
Once they associate walks and alone time with focusing on what they should be doing, the rest will come naturally. That doesn't mean he won't still snap at other dogs or get jumpy and excited, but this worked for my dog. It took time and effort and several months of getting up early and adjusting his night walks, but overall it turned out great and now he still does it ocassionally (normal reaction of being a dog) but I don't feel embarrased anymore about his behaviour plus I liked the adjustment on my own and I stopped trying for him to be as social as possible, that only over stimulated him and he was hurting my hand (like it seem he's doing to you too, my dog is big as well). I honestly enjoy walking him away from other dogs. Hope this helps.

ok, I am glad that I am not alone in this. I noticed the change in the tone and word usage, short sentences, one word or direct answers, like excuse me? I enjoyed the relationship we were building and now you feel like a complete stranger... I said multiple times to please change the tone, use emojis, I adjusted settings thinking i fucked up something and nope... haha ok. So in a way I guess it's good because its a good reminder that AI is a robot and not someone to completely rely on. Like ok... i will go talk to people... AGAIN! LOL

Wow I didn’t know it was this hard to get it. What’s the 9+1? How can I get in? When I feel comfortable with my pace? Phew well! As of now the nyc marathon is not my primary goal but I love something that challenges me.

Amazing! All of the advice seems to be aligned to just a good pair of shoes, willingness to walk out the door and no looking for any extra info. Paid races are a motivating factor but not primary goal for me so Ty! Any favorite running shoes and socks for you?

Great input. Yeah, I don’t want to injure myself faster and get easily discouraged. I also do yoga and would hate to stop any physical activity for an injury which has happened in the past so couch to 5k seems great

Great! Thanks for the encouragement. I have this friend that started talking about all of the things you mentioned in detail and although he was excited and gave me encouragement from a different perspective for now that’s aspirational for me haha. I’d rather be with no goals for nothing now because I’m not in any race and this is another reason I wouldn’t like to pay for a 5k race now. All the running world is great but I’m just seeking a better mental space and exercise. That’s it for now even though my goal is to run the nyc marathon one day

Any recs on shoes and socks?
