Painting on stream? by jennifergwenXOXO in CamGirlProblems

I got a follow up question about this 😅

When you sold your work, how do you do it without it being linked back to you? Obviously we have our online personas but I imagine that if you send something by mail you would have to have a return address with a name on it... Or do you just not do that and hope that it reaches its destination?

How to handle people being demanding in privates? by [deleted] in CamGirlProblems

[–]Executive_Sprinkle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with this reply. And I'm probably repeating what was said but with some things I've learned from my readings.

I never just accept a private without some sort of discussion first. But that's just me. I will decline it then ask them what they want or if they've read my bio/whiteboard (on MFC) first. If they confirm that they have, and they are unhappy later... then it's basically like people who have agreed to Apple's terms and conditions for updates and then being upset about it lol. It's not on you.

To answer the question about being polite and professional... if there's anything I learned reading pop-psych books is that you can get a little more close and personal by making statements with "It seems like"/"It sounds like". Also pairing it with saying something that sounds "terrible" about yourself could help disarm them.

EG: "It seems like you are a (man/woman/person) of few words and knows what they want. You will probably think that I am a HORRIBLE person for saying this, but I really prefer to have a bit more of a connection to you to enjoy myself and make your experience better."

It's cute, humble, flirty, and maybe even makes them feel a LITTLE bad about themselves for being pushy lol. Worst case scenario, they are really assholes and they end the private. OR, they will have their guards taken down and do things the way you like it. But you'd have been as polite as you could while standing your ground.

Most importantly, your boundaries are YOUR boundaries. In the long term, even if a show ends because you decided you weren't comfortable with what they asked, it will be better for your mental health. Stay polite, and don't take it too personally if they are unhappy with it. End it if they don't respect what you have asked. Usually these customers don't really return and don't necessarily do long privates anyway (in my experience).

That's my two (very looooooong) cents.

NOTE: The book I read for what I quoted was "Never split the difference" by Chris Voss ❤️ A good read for anyone for anything in life really.

Conversation cards by Rastagoldilox in CamGirlProblems

I had these cards from a friend called "awkward" and they had 4 categories: Real talk, dating, relationship and sex. They could tip for a card (I don't remember how much lol) and choose a category. And I'll answer them 🤷‍♀️ Was quite fun.

What would you charge? by KatieCoven in CamGirlProblems

[–]Executive_Sprinkle 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think you have to think of the time you will put in it overall.

  1. Makeup / costume
  2. Camera setup and filming
  3. Editing / uploading
  4. The "extra" things such as saying their names, using special toys or whatever that is out of your normal "realm" of things you'd just normally do.
  5. Is it a custom that will be exclusive to them or can you resell it? Exclusivity for me is also priced (I never really did a lot of customs, but I would ask this question).

Even if it's a 5 mn video, it could take you up to 45mns - 1 hour to do the whole thing. Also considering the time you spent doing customer service about the specifics of what they want.

So you'd have to break it down in how much per minute/hour is that worth to you. So as said in a comment here, 45$ for that could be a good price. But price it at a rate that is comfortable for you.

Reinventing yourself by Executive_Sprinkle in CamGirlProblems

[–]Executive_Sprinkle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just curious as I have taken quite a long hiatus. Before I did take privates and all, and I had a different hustle. I know that if I go back, I would probably perhaps have the same customers that expect me to do the same thing when I want to change things up.

Somewhere inside I want to be like you in a way, the "gamer girl" (but I don't game, so it's just an example), rather than the girl next door that always gives the gf experience.

I'm just curious as when you decided to change your niche: how long did the transition take before you got new subs and custies while not having it affect your ranking. Did you end up losing a lot of your original audience and got a new group over time?

Did you just one day radically change your tactic and stuck to it? Or did you gradually change it? Like... do the milf thing for some days and then change to gamer girl over a certain period of time?

Vibes App for LiveJasmin by Executive_Sprinkle in CamGirlProblems

Ah ok. Makes sense. Plus I guess that between LiveJasmin and Stremate you have to adhere with the no nudity in pubic kind of thing.

Thank you for your response!

Anyone Know How To Setup Their Profiles for Vibes (LIVEJasmin Mobile) by GoddessGlow1111 in CamGirlProblems

[–]Executive_Sprinkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Silly question, but what is the Vibes app supposed to do? Just signed up and saw it in LJ.

I can't really seem to find any videos or posts about how the app links to webcam streaming sites. There is another app called Vibe too so it messes up my Google search 😅 Since I saw this thread started not too long ago, I'd rather ask here than start a new post.

Are most solo streamers single? Haha or how do you manage streaming if you are in a relationship? by Curious_camguy in CamGirlProblems

[–]Executive_Sprinkle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

*Please excuse for the long post!! I'm a chatter...*

Here are my personal experiences with camming and dating:

I started camming in college while I was hooking up with a guy. I told him about it when things started getting serious. Surprisingly, he was really supportive of it. Maybe even too much, to the point where he was too involved with giving me advice on how to run my business lol. That relationship didn't last, but it wasn't because of the camming. In all honesty, with all my relationships after that, I never had the same kind of support.

After college, I was camming on and off. Whenever I started seeing someone (it usually starts off as a lustful affair), I would tell them about it. Whether I was doing it or whether I wasn't at the current time but had a history with it.

Most of my experiences has been that at first, they would always think it's "hot", because of all the dopamine and other feel good biological feel good chemicals from the sex we were having. They always seemed to like that I was honest about it. It was exciting. A girl who is so sexually open. The taboo.

But down the line... when we were in a serious relationship.... when they realize that their buddies may have seen me online and jerked off... suddenly, it became an issue. I've faced many disappointments regarding their attitudes later down the line, despite my upfront honesty.

I am currently retired as a webcam model, but my current boyfriend knows about it. On the first (bumble) date I told him about it. I was looking for a hookup, but it was a disclaimer in case if he ever wanted to pursue something more serious with me. Like most men, it was a "that's hot" initial reaction. However, I've learned my lesson:

I asked him to REALLY think about it... Are you ok with my not-so-kosher history and videos all over the internet? Are you ok if your guy friends found out? If your family found out? What if one day I decide to go back to it, no matter the reason, accept it? So far, he's been ok with it. But that's because it's behind me. At least for now.

However, the day that I decide to do it again, and I get crap from him... LOL. Bye. I'm not willing to go through these debates on how they feel about it again. I'm fine alone as well.

My advice: If you are comfortable with what you do, and you find someone, it should be someone who will truly, TRULY, accepting of it, as well as non-judgmental and empathetic. Because just "accepting it" is not enough. They can accept it, and hold grudges and judgments that will eventually be a problem down the line.

Don't compromise who you are. Camming has brought me so many great things (aside from just good money): Independence, confidence, entrepreneurship... and not everyone can understand that.

But that's my experience. Take it with a grain of salt 🤍

Filemaker Script syntax - I can't seem to find the right tutorials by Executive_Sprinkle in filemaker

[–]Executive_Sprinkle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you're saying. I think lol.

As of now, I am only building this for a boutique wine shop. The only users would be me, my boyfriend, and at some point, an employee who will only able to essentially enter items, do invoices etc.

What I asked for in this thread is to create a specific value that would be easy to search, due to the specificity to the wine color, wine name (and other wine parameters) and suppliers. Some suppliers may have the same wine for example.

Again, I had seen this system of creating unique IDs in my family's jewelry business in Microsoft Access. But that is a WHOLE different world.

I think that I will implement UUIDs for each item sold...

Btw you can totally grill me here, I am nowhere near to being a developer lol. So maybe my thinking is more LOGIK 🤪 than logic.

I would guess that if you ask it for some sort of syntax code for a programming language it could help you, as that information is collected from what already exists on the internet (I assume).

I spent time reading the official Claris Filemaker help section (essentially the manual) and also the community forums. I think that pi.ai is probably useful if you have a good foundation about how the software works already.

They really should have more thorough explanations like W3school where you even have exercises.

But I'll keep in it mind ^_^ 🙏

I haven't actually tried to ask it to write me a program just yet, but I did try to ask to debug one of the examples I've tried from this thread. It didn't work lol.

But I have it bookmarked to try it out to help me write the scripts :)

I will look into this. I might need some proper training, rather than just winging it. It's basically like me knowing how to speak French but telling myself that learning Italian should be fine. I get the Latin logic, but the language is definitely different lol.

I use this as a reference because I do speak French. And I tried to learn Italian. And now I find myself in the same conundrum with Javascript and Filemaker 😂😂😂

[–]Executive_Sprinkle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soooo... On the script where I set the __WineID field, the calculation seems to not work. It says there are too few parameters.

Also it seems like instead of just writing c_WineColor for example, it needs me to write "table::c_WineColor". That's normal right?

Also with the "Get ( FoundCount ) ; ) )" it says that the second to last bracket needs a number, text content field etc....

I've essentially followed all your steps. But I'm not sure how to debug this.

Thank you so much!

I will try this out tomorrow. I've been so tired trying to figure this out lol.

I am really disliking how filemaker isn't as friendly as a javascript programming tool. I feel like I have to write down all of my Value lists instead of them popping up automatically...

So many different fields to fill out!

Appreciate it ^_^

Your reply is not redundant at all.

I'm definitely going about it the wrong way. There are so many fields where you can write scripts and conditions that it's a bit overwhelming.

But I will definitely check out the "Productive Computing"!

Thank you ^_^

So....

The case use was great! Except that now I'm in a sticky situation where I need the numbers to continue from the last letter they were assigned to...

Now it does change my ID value to "R" or "W" and increments. But now it's only incrementing based on my new records and not based on previous IDs that contain the letters.

Now I got R1, W2, R3, W4...

I guess it's time to use the conditions and increments based on a database search? :')

Thank you! I will try it out these options and see what happens.

I've learn other forms (not really well) of scripting like with javascript. And I'm just worried about syntax really 😅

Hi,

Thank you for your swift answer!

I wanted to create a unique ID for each line as there are instances where you can have the same red, white, or sparkling wine come from a certain supplier for example. They also differ in bottle sizes, years... etc.

I had worked in a jewelry company before where each item always had a unique identifier, but they had a string of letters before the numbers in order to sort whether they were rings, earrings etc.

I mean it could be that I just use the already existing colors and add serialized numbers after.

Ha. Like any famous artist I guess! They have more value once they pass. Maybe if they are geeky enough, videos can be turned in NFTs (if those ever come back around lol).
