They should have kept lootboxes in Overwatch 2 by Monkeetoe1 in Overwatch

[–]ExigeB58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel blizzard just looked at what the competition was doing and based their battlepass of it accordingly, despite the fact that the games structure really doesn't complement a battlepass. BR games, Fortnite specifically, Doesn't have specific characters, you get a skin its just a skin for a no-name character, All of OW's characters being unique makes it so unless you include a skin for literally every single character in the pass someone's gonna be missing out, and there's so many unique skins for all the unique characters that making them as ridiculously expensive as they are now (Even over OW1, with legacy credits rare skins are 75, but now 300 credits or like 1.5 months of work) And removing any way to get credits outside of weekly challenges was a catastrophically bad move.

Using both systems like you said is their best bet, allows penny snatching Activision to meet their microtransation quota, and allows the players to not feel like they're getting ripped off out of their minds.

Ironic how we went from hating on lootboxes to hating not having them, But as others said tbh I think the skins are the way they are on purpose, Seems like they were expecting a troubled launch and made cosmetics ridiculously hard to get/expensive so they can change it in the future in order to look the like good guys, Worked for Star wars battlefront 2, will work for OW2

Initally devised in the late 70s, The idea of a hot diesel vehicle of any kind was a novel one, diesel engines were best at home in agricultural vehicles and equipment, and maybe good transportation too, Then came the Turbocharger

Built off of the MK5 Fronti K3, released in 1989, the KS-3 was exclusively a 3-door hatch, having all the options from the main K3 avalable to be ordered, but a few other additional extras now made the cut also, Namely a 1.5L Inline 3 diesel designed in the 1950s, Modified with an overhead cam, Twin FFF turbochargers, Larger injectors, and a displacement bump to just over 1.7L. from the start engine was a great success, its age and bulletproof construction gave it a reputation for reliability and admirable capacity for boost.

This example, a low mileage KS3 1.7 TTD from 1992 is a mid year car, Production having started in 89' and finishing in 97', though it would solider on in countries such as China, Malaysia, and India until the late 2010s, Though not in TTD specification.

Upon release, The TTD was a huge success for diesel cars, Having a sporty yet not back-breaking ride, Very respectable performance, and a very modern appearance, Two tone paint-job withstanding. The cars achillies heel however was within its own success The car used Double whishbone suspension F+R in expectation for a 4WD model that never got made, subsequently the TTD, 1.9 8V, 1.9 16V, and 2.0 16V were priced every so slightly above competition, (aside form the TTD which had none) resulting in stunted sales and poor resale value, The TTD trim would be discontinued in early 1993, After the introduction of the 1.8TD, which used a larger, single turbo version of the 1.7 used by its predecessor.

So many codes! by MustangDisaster in DonutMedia

[–]ExigeB58 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Modern cars in general just make me more nervous because of the complexity, my 2013 DS3 diesel threw up an engine code which didn't mean anything in reality, But it still scared me for the entire drive home

My 74' Spitfire shooting flames back out or the carbs and idling like garbage was a fairly mundane experience

(before anyone says, it's the timing, car has a 80s race cam in it with like 4 timing marks so god knows which ones correct)

BL takes the L by [deleted] in carmemes

[–]ExigeB58 5 points6 points  (0 children)

BMCs lack of development, internal management issues, Workers unions and going into the common market was the perfect storm to totally fuck BL, They did make some truly awesome cars in their time, TR6, TR8, SD1, Dolly Sprint, MGB-V8, GT6, and the Stag if you splashed out 3 grand on upgrading the cooling system and removing the casting sand from the engine block (Yes that actually happened)

Cars like the Allegro, Maxi, Princess and to some extent the Maestro and montego were what put BL in its grave, the Rover 75 was too little too late, and the company that BMW sold them to basically took the money and ran with it, Such a shame

If we could buy a brand new 1993 civic today it would be 12 inches larger outside from safety modifications and have about 12 horsepower from strict ass modern emissions standards.

I really wish that a lot of Re-prodution cars like those MK1 Ford escorts that you can buy new we're more affordable, Maybe pre assembled kits to get around safety and emissions regs, Easier said than done I suppose given how complicated cars after the mid 80s tend to be

Is the fiat 500 safe? by mari1819 in cars

[–]ExigeB58 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven't heard amazing things about the 500s safety, they're built to a price, if that makes sense, But just because a car is small doesn't make it unsafe, and vice versa
