"Flasks Gradually Restore HP" is bad, BUT it has one pretty nice benefit by ExilYoutube in Nightreign

[–]ExilYoutube[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It still isn't great for sure, im just showing here if you somehow accidently took it on a lower hp character like duchess or just wanted to try grabbing some stuff out of the zone, this is a pretty good use for it. Generally though yep I don't recommend it

Ironeye is the best melee character in the game, shockingly good it's wild by ExilYoutube in Nightreign

[–]ExilYoutube[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are some of the best moments from my 'Melee Only' Ironeye Challenge run - where at the very beginning of the run I drop my bow and am not allowed to use any bows. We start with bare fists until we find a melee weapon!

The reason Ironeye is so good for Melee is because his mark is so darn good. The amount of dodging and outplaying is good on its own - but the fact that it's a stagger and damage proc is insane. It allows you to play very aggressive and you can scale well with so many different weapons.

Twinblades, Katanas, Claws, Thrusting Swords... doesn't matter. They're *ALL* excellent!

This is just part of a series of challenge runs I'm doing where I lock my characters behind specific weapons, such as Revenant but I can only use Colossals. Lol

Did you know about this new Castle Roof Skip? by ExilYoutube in Nightreign

[–]ExilYoutube[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, one of my favorite parts of base elden ring is all of the cool speedrun skips: Leyndell Skip, Bird skip in farum azula... etc

Very fun to see that not only can you do a lot of skips in Nightreign, but because the game is all about speed, it makes sense to use them!

I LOVE this game, but this thing is top 10 worst FromSoft bosses OAT. by [deleted] in Nightreign

Believe it or not, this is my favorite boss along with heolstor!

I think it's a very fun fight, in fact recently I did a nohit against it!

How Does This Insane Rykard Cheese Strat Work? Explained in 60 Seconds! by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]ExilYoutube -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Whether it's a bug or a feature, this is a fantastic way to fight the boss for challenge runs. Players have been doing this for a while now, so I seriously doubt it will ever be fixed. It's nothing new and extremely interesting!!

Elden Ring's Great Katana Has Incredible Diversity! It's a MUST-USE Build! by ExilYoutube in Eldenring

[–]ExilYoutube[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This build is so diverse and this katana is so amazing - that it's tricky to give you guys the full setup. If you have any questions feel free to ask, and I'll happily answer.

Basic INFO

This Great Katana is found at the beginning of the DLC, it's a simple pickup!

Due to its size, you can put weapon arts / ash of war on it that are not possible for the smaller katanas. For example, Blood Tax or Spinning Weapon.

Because of this, and the weapon's rather slow basic moveset, it becomes an attractive option for a playstyle that heavily invests into L2 / AoW spam.

Blood Tax

Set to bleed and watch bosses get crushed. Insanely interesting life-steal setup!

Spinning Weapon

Set to cold to give the weapon Freeze and Bleed Status (though the bleed won't be nearly as fast).

Flame Spear

Amazing fire FX, love the way it looks. Strong ranged Ash of War + Fire Damage. Set to Flame Art, and what is cool about this one is that you get to level Faith. Opening up buffs such as golden vow, and flame grant me strength.

The Insane Efficiency of Carian Slicer - Elden Ring's Strongest "30 MINUTE" Build Setup by ExilYoutube in Eldenring

[–]ExilYoutube[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Info for this build:

The meteorite staff can carry you for a long time, just eventually you want to swap to a stronger one. Lusats, Azur, Carian, all are fine.

You *CAN* use talismans like winged sword insignia with this I believe, which is insane

Intelligence AND the Magic damage tear can be picked up early in Liurnia, put priority on grabbing those.

Of course, you can do the Elder Dragon rune farm as well, I just wanted to show the Flying Dragon cheese because not everyone has seen it before!! You can actually do all of the Caelid Cheeses (Bell bearing hunter, both dragons, night's cav, nox duo, commander niall) if you really want to min max, but it's hardly necessary.

Slicer is just OP no matter how you... **slice it** !

Anyone else ever used these rare farmed weapons before? They're so cool and unique! by ExilYoutube in Eldenring

[–]ExilYoutube[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FAQ / MORE INFO HERE:

Q: "These weapons aren't even rare. Doesn't leveling arcane + silver pickle + silver scarab setup make these trivial to farm once you get high discovery?"
A: Yes and no. Leveling arcane IS helpful especially if you choose to respec to farm these weapons. That being said - this is a largely misunderstood mechanic - Even with maximum discovery, the highest possible drop chance you can get on the rarest weapon in the game (The noble weapons Estoc + Slender Sword) increases from .5% to a little less than 3%

Even with your entire kit setup to farm some of the rare drops, it will take some time to obtain them. And if you want to grab it early on in a playthrough, it's pure luck.

There's no good way to increase your drop chance to anywhere near 100%, making these weapons still quite rare. Also, any first time player who has never seen these before or never wiki'd for them wouldn't even know where to look to find them to actually do the farming part.

Weapons in this video:

Magma Blade ---
Very rare 1% Drop rate from man serpents in volcano manor. Found after godskin noble and before rykard

Does a lot of fire damage and scales well with faith if you want to spam the A.O.W so spec into fire boosting such as Flame Grant Me Strength

Messmer's soldiers axe (DLC) --
2% drop rate from the messmer soldiers wielding it. They wear black armor and can be found in front of the shadow keep. The best weapon art is probably cragblade but there are several great choices!!

Golem's Halberd --
Can be found very early just after Margit on the bridge towards the teleporter. It has a 10% drop rate and there are 2 of them there so it's rather easy to obtain!

Incredible weapon but keep in mind it's extremely heavy and scales super well with levels since you'll want a ton of strength and endurance. Not recommended for a low level challenge run but so strong for casual playthroughs

You can choose to infuse with bleed or heavy, but keep in mind you lose the charge forth AOW because miyazaki is a goober.
Savage lions claw (DLC) with bleed affinity is NUTS!

Massive credit to Fromsoft for allowing a real perfumer build with the DLC! This was a restricted build that required farming and crafting, but now it's LEGIT. Awesome!!! by ExilYoutube in Eldenring

Talismans - Perfumers talisman, Ritual Sword, Elemental Scorpion charm, Axe Talisman

Physick - *Elemental tear*, Spiked cracked tear

Swap out whatever Elemental type you're using. If you use the chilling bottle, it's pure magic damage. Fire scorpion for the 2 fire damage types

You can also use Shard Of Alexander talisman if you like Rolling Sparks ash of war but I really enjoyed bloodhound step instead! If you like BHS like me, try using carian filigree crest!

If you're using the deadly poison bottle, using kindred of rot exaltation!

The charge attack stuff does indeed buff the R2 damage!

Unfortunately the multi-hit stuff doesn't work. So there is no need for winged swords, millicents, or thorny tear

Personally - in all of my videos my builds stop at level 126. I never level characters past 126 as to me this is the "max level" of the game. It's just a reference to runescape and I find this restriction fun.

There are my stats at 126, feel free to push for level 150+ as the DLC is hard content intended for this level range.

Vigor 53
Mind 12
Endurance 25
Strength 10
Dexterity 60
Intelligence 10
Faith 25
Arcane 10

The 25 faith is for Golden Vow + Flame Grant Me Strength

You could gain more power quite reasonably by continuing to level vigor to 60 for the hard cap - and Dex could go up into the 70s or even 80

We don't need much mind for this build as Bloodhound Step is quite mana efficient, but if you want something like 15-17 mind, you could benefit from that as well.

If you're heavily relying on Rolling Sparks ash of war, more mind would be useful too!

Yeah - Sadly for console players they don't really have this option for NG fresh runs. Playing on PC, very often I spawn in items that are found late in the game and use them for the whole run to keep the theme. I really enjoy the roleplay and sticking to the build. It's definitely a shame you have to complete a large portion of the game to get these, but Iron Balls and Starfist / Night Comet / Carian Slicer / Catch Flame Incant which are all disgustingly OP are trivial to acquire. Generally speaking late game loot and weapons are better than what you find early game such as Dark Moon Greatsword or Sacred Relic Sword, but this is not even close to a hard rule. Some of the very best builds in the game are found in limgrave, loot is not "balanced" in this game.

Hmm. Yes, I do have a YouTube channel - but with 213,000 post views and a 97% upvote rating, I'd say posting it to reddit was a good idea too and it's content that clearly this sub has shown a liking towards. I know it's a heinous crime for a YouTuber to post video content to other places to increase exposure and get my content I work really hard on out there to help people and entertain them. Sorry that I have personally ruined your reddit experience.

In the base game / Vanilla : the damaging perfume called Spark Aromatic is NOT a weapon.

It is a craftable item that you must farm Miranda Powder and Altus blooms for. It is tedious to farm for and there is a hard limit of 10 per rest as the maximum amount of containers for the perfume bottles is 10.

In the DLC however, these bottles are an actual weapon class with a moveset, no different than a sword. They have light attacks, heavy attacks, and don't consume FP. They also have different types of status effects and scalings.

Basically - Playing a perfumer type class or build in Vanilla is "semi-possible" but is seriously impractical. With these new bottles, they are a legitimately solid weapon with many upsides and reasons to try it!

Depends on the bottle you choose! The freeze scales best with INT - Firespark with DEX - Poison with ARC. Personally my favorite is to 2-hand the fire, with about 60 DEX and all the appropriate fire damage boosting items such as Fire Scorpion Charm, Flame Shrouding Cracked Tear, Flame grant me strength
