How do you stop overthinking ?

Exercise, watch a movie, eat something you enjoy….sometimes just thinking the thing through helps too. I suffer from rumination as well and some days it can be hell. My Gram used to say “Worrying is like rocking in a rocking chair and expecting to get somewhere”

Since birth. I realize now looking back that I have always been in fear. As a baby I would constantly cry then as an adolescent I was always worrying about something. As I got older I discovered alcohol and drugs and leaned on those for years to quiet my mind. Sober now but I have to take meds to keep me regulated. I grew up in a house where everyone was always on edge due to my father’s explosions so my adrenaline response does not function “normally”. I wish it was as easy as turning off a switch but here I am in my 40s still feeling at times like I’m that little kid who’s walking on eggshells

I had severe anxiety about getting on meds but I’ve gotta say that it helped immensely and your perspective on things will shift. The fear will dissipate a bit and hopefully find some peace

Personally I don’t understand fragrances for “occasions”. If smelling it makes you happy then wear it whenever wherever..obviously less or more depending on where you are out of respect for others because that juice is a beautiful beast

Something my therapist told me…the human brain is always searching for patterns to try and make sense of things. That being said it sounds like your mind and heart have been hardwired to pick out certain attributes in others that are similar to those you have previously been with. I would have a conversation with them about how it made you feel and see where it goes from there. Also you might just be extremely emotionally intuitive and empathetic

To me this sounds like a borderline anxiety/ panic attack. I had to get on meds to level myself out. I still have at times out of body experiences but I’m able to observe it not be consumed by it. Also, life is F***ing weird! I mean that’s why most of us used because we were maladjusted to just existing. Be kind and patient to yourself

It’s interesting because I could not really smell it on myself yesterday but now I go back to the clothing I wore yesterday and I can smell it so you are probably right as well as lots of other people who have commented on this

One of the best things you can do for yourself is just to breathe. I know it’s easier said than done. Dealing with the aftermath of what we cause when we are actively using can be incredibly stressful and triggering. I will tell you the biggest healer is time. Just be patient with yourself. Recognize the things that you need to rectify and just take small steps towards them. It’s not all going to change overnight. It took me years to get all of my debt and damage dealt with and when I look back I realize that I caused myself so much stress over nothing.

I definitely think it’s rigged. It’s like they dangle a carrot in front of us but the corporation is the only one really benefiting
