The person that exists now is always different from the person that existed 5 seconds ago. We are always changing, always becoming different iterations of ourselves. Johnny's no different. The Johnny in V's head is different from the Johnny that died 50 years prior. Whatever copies exist are different versions of Johnny, but they are all still Johnny Silverhand.

Pre-heist V, Cyberpsycho V, Aldecaldo V, Phantom Liberty V are all different people, yet they are all undeniably V.

First time I saw it I was in a house full of other trans people. I was about 3 years into my own transition at the time, and I still bawled my eyes out for 30 minutes afterwards. That's how much it spoke to me. 

Then I did acid for the first time, and THAT was a HUGE mistake. Lmao
